You can’t.

(Sorry for the “harsh-sounding” reality)

What makes you think that you need to do so?

So … since you’re going to have to “live with it”

Recommend that you carefully review and thoroughly digest the two fairly important and informative articles linked below.

Pay particularly close attention to thoughtfully selecting and setting up Trusted Numbers … these become critical when you need to regain access to your account (e.g. lost, damaged, or stolen device).

Wow, this is a real nuisance for me, i hate the fact that i have to keep checking the code number sent to my iPhone to get into my account.

How often are you having to do this? What are you doing when it happens? I don't think I've had to enter the code on my phone since I set it up back in November. Perhaps if you explain, someone can figure out what's going on.

Tim Cook, APPLE CEO,

IF SOMEONE HAS NOT TOLD YOU YOUR TWO FACTOR VERIFICATION SYSTEM IT'S A PAIN IN THE .SS, IT IS MORE A HINDRANCE THAN A HELP. TO TOP IT OFF YOU'VE MADE THE UNILATERAL DECISION THAT WE CANNOT TURN IT OFF AT OUR DISCRETION, THAT TOTALLY SU...S. YOU'RE MAKING A LOT OF MONEY OFF OF US THE CONSUMERS, AT LEAST GIVE US THE TOTAL DISCRETION TO PROTECT OURSELVES AS WE SEEM FIT. IF WE DO NOT WANT YOUR POORLY CODED TWO-FACTOR AUTHENTICATION THEN WE SHOULD BE ABLE TO TURN IT OFF OR ON: AT OUR DISCRETION NOT YOURS!!!

Tim Cook, APPLE CEO,

Pretty sure Tim is off for the long weekend by now. Oh, and he doesn't get his mail here.

LEAST GIVE US THE TOTAL DISCRETION TO PROTECT OURSELVES

YOU ABSOLUTELY HAVE THIS DISCRETION RIGHT NOW. Do not use Apple services that require 2FA, as not all do.

TURN IT OFF OR ON: AT OUR DISCRETION NOT YOURS!!!

YOU HAD THIS FOR 14 DAYS!!!

I suggest you redirect your message to >>> http://www.apple.com/feedback/

The fact that you haven't yet learned how to use it doesn't mean it's poorly coded. If you explain what problems yyou'reour having (preferably not in all caps), perhaps someone can help you resolve then.

I have to agree as to poor coding as I have had no less than 8 customer service operatives online with me and still can’t solve the problems I have 2FA works on other operating systems but is very poorly implemented on Apple it works well if you only have 1 or 2 of the latest devices as for having multiple devices well you’ve had it it’s just too intrusive and unreliable and don’t ever let device lose connection then it’s a total disaster

security is of course important to everyone but it needs to be useable across all your devices.

i also agree that no company is going to give total control to its users as this would be neglectful on their part however the original system of password worked well and all the current issues seem t be caused by 2FA so I think until they get it working for everyone we should have the option to opt out.

For many years Apple have lead the way in technologies yet nothing in terms of device protection just this 2FA which protects your Apple account only. Apple should consider protecting the device itself this would in turn protect your Account.

So overall security is important but needs to work seamlessly and trouble free before its forced upon us

What’s the point of Apple feedback as nothing ever happens 2FA on Apple is intrusive And unreliable no less than 8 online sessions with so called customer support and problems still there so before forcing people to use a system make sure it works for everyone that’s what beta testing is for but no good comes from testing something in a perfect environment

2FA on Apple is intrusive And unreliable

I disagree. Hundreds of millions of users use it daily without issue. There are apparently a billion Apple IDs in use.

You may be experiencing issues. It may be unreliable for you. I don't recall seeing you detail your issue. The purpose of this community is to help each other with solvable technical issues. Not to scream at Apple telling them what you want them to do.

You seem to want someone from Apple to post here to you. Or write to you. That won't happen. It's not what this community exists for. Not my rule.

What’s the point of Apple feedback as nothing ever happens

Your question is absolutely unanswerable. What "you" want may not happen.

no less than 8 online sessions with so called customer support

I realize this means something to you, but to this community, we have no idea what your issue is or issues are. No idea why 8 online sessions have not resolved your issue(s). It's childish and petulant to use the phrase "so-called". You're editorializing and you are looking for empathy here when none can be offered.

And if I can from the response above this one...to IdrisSeabright

however the original system of password worked well

No sillier words have ever been said IMO. Passwords don't work because end users will not expend effort to make them secure. Not only Apple, but every other account provider on earth has needed to enforce account security on the unwilling as the stakes got higher and the risks greater.

Not locking your car doors worked well too. And perhaps still does in Mayberry.

If you've ever worked supporting users and their passwords, you would not utter that phrase.

A bit harsh from you and perhaps myself I know Apple are not going to reply and I have asked for help here and many times from Apple care. Yes for me it’s a serious issue and I’m sure that many people use it everyday with no issues but like myself there are many people that are having problems with 2FA and it seems that nobody has any solutions including Apple themselves so my belief is that if so many are having problems why can’t we turn it off until a solution is found and implemented so yet again not against Apple or 2FA simply the fact that in many situations it doesn’t work and if nobody is listening it will never be fixed so instead of expressing how bad you think I am how about a solution for me and the many other users affected by this I have explained the problems over and over I have tried all of the resolution suggestions and all to no avail 2FA in Apple causes me many issues yet on android google Microsoft Linux unix and all the other systems I work with on a daily basis the only one causing these problems is Apple it seems that every time I lose connection to internet it wants me to authenticate again some times several times in an hour this is unacceptable and nobody seems to know why Apple support say nothing wrong with devices or account so why does it constantly fail open to most sensible suggestions and as for everyone liking 2FA try google search.

For background I have worked in IT for over 39 years and with almost every operating system all to code level and hardware to component level so I’m not sounding off without knowledge but I do feel that until the problems are resolved we should retain the right to turn it off

May 29, 2020 6:10 AM in response to LACAllen

I didn’t start this discussion but yes I’m unhappy with 2FA but it appears that here anything said against Apple is considered an attack this is not for me anyway the case I have asked for help and some has been offered but nothing seems to work so I repeat I’m not against Apple or 2FA and not trying to upset anyone I simply want it to work reliably which in all fairness when I’m at office or home on WiFi or in a good signal area it does but it fails completely when ideal conditions are not available please keep in mind that I have an android mobile and a windows mobile with me always and the later 2 also use 2FA but remember the customer when service returns Apple does not causing me having to re sign in constantly so help if you can if not then it’s down to Apples poor coding as stated by the original author of this post
