The statement re potential buyers, I believe this is very accurate.

There is absolutely no mention of 2FA and it’s nuisance factor mentioned in any publicly available advertising.

The advertisements refer to advanced security, no mention of being forced to use it in order for the product to be used to its advertised specifications.

Security should effective and invisible in operation and not intrusive and unreliable.

Apple force this upon users simply for their protection. They do nothing to protect the source which is the device itself.

we as users like some control over our devices, and Apple are making sure we have as little control as possible, and I feel this is unacceptable.

The security level of Apple 2FA is good but requires too much user intervention and is too slow and intrusive in its current version.

Until it works for everyone we should be allowed to sign a disclaimer and turn it off.

i think all forms of 2FA are a good idea in principle, but they need to work properly.

why with all the technology available today are we still sending security codes over air?

which defeats any security.

All this and yet it still doesn’t work properly.

For many people and potential buyers this lack of user control is becoming a deal breaker.

when Apple launched the iPhones and iPads,

they were sold and built to be a device you already know how to use out of the box.

Technology made simple.

Now it’s far from simple and causes the system to be slow and requires constant interruptions and user input.

what a shame to destroy what was the best product available.

Apple don’t seem to see or care about the future, as the more people that buy their products now and find out just how poorly Apple treat its customers, the more people will never buy again.

wake up Apple make it work or scrap it before it’s too late

Further to this downfall of Apples credibility over 2FA, It’s not just about the service it’s the overall attitude of Apple and it care towards its customers.

they already have the worst reputation for servicing or repairs, support agents that read what is already available on the web and as for any real complaints there is no way to escalate.

So with poor customer service , exceptionally poor service and repairs and now a poorly implemented security system, Just how much more do Apple expect their customer base to endure?

Apple seems to believe it’s too big, however they only prosper through its customer base and they are slowly destroying this.

sort out 2FA allow complaints to be escalated and make repairs affordable and honest not just say it’s dead buy a new one.

I totally agree and I have tried so many times but it falls on deaf ears.

Apple have no official complaints department or anyway of escalating an issue beyond support operatives. As for their feedback section I have posted countless requests to upgrade my issues and as usual with Apple, absolute silence.

With all the issues I have had over 2FA not once have I received any useful help from support.

So I stand by my statement that Apple just take your money then you’re on you’re own.

In all the years I have been with Apple I have never had any issues until being forced to use a system that simply doesn’t work for me, I feel that taking away the option to turn it off until they fix it is totally unreasonable.

Apple want complete control over my devices holding me to ransom with this 2FA having to be turned on to use the device to its advertised specification.

Apples version of 2FA is poorly implemented and highly intrusive and almost amateurish.

My devices are pin protected with biometric face recognition so they already know who is using it so why does it want me to keep signing in? It’s a complete waste of time.

The biggest issue for me is they only protect themselves when in reality the device is the most vulnerable yet no effort is made to protect it.

IOS is reasonably safe but is hackable.

I understand they need to protect themselves but that should not render the device almost unusable.

They need to allow us to turn it off until such time as it works flawlessly and without constant interruptions, A quality security system is offensive yet invisible in operation this is why I say this current system although slight improvement in recent months is still a very amateurish attempt from a high tech corporation.

Why are we still sending sensitive codes over open air?

A trillion dollar technology company that can hire the absolute best people and they're not implementing your ideas. I wonder why not?

Why are we still sending sensitive codes over open air?

Unless you're using a non-Apple phone, codes are not being sent through "open air". That's precisely why Apple, by default, doesn't use SMS.

Nothing worse than Apple groupies lol

no offence intended but I find it truly amazing that the moment you criticise Apple one of you either removes the post or responds in an off handed way.

i have real issues ever since 2FA was introduced and all I get is no help from support and offended on here.

i love Apple devices and own many but 2FA is not useable for me and I’m hoping they will change the policy to disable it until it does work.

is it really too much to ask with thousands of pounds invested in equipment that is causing me issues every day?

one of you either removes the post

No volunteer here has the ability to remove posts.

You are absolutely entitled to your own opinion, but not your own facts.

Apple hosts remove posts when they don't meet the terms of the community. We are all subject to them. That you don't know that or don't care about that is very telling.

It has been my observation that as soon as people say "no offense intended", they very much intend to say something offensive.

We understand you have an issue with 2FA. However, no one here seems to be able to offer you a solution that satisfies you. Telling us what you think Apple should do accomplishes nothing. Despite what you may think, Apple does read the feedback submitted through proper channels. They are very clear up front that they probably won't be responding directly to you.

Apparently Apple has been unable to make you happy, either. I suggest that it is time for you to try an Android phone. If you carrier carries them, Motorolas are (or at least used to be) some of the best. Fantastic battery life and very little bloatware. Also, no real history of exploding.

I have always been polite and have not set out to upset anyone, however I came here originally for help and assistance with a major issue with 2FA which although slight improvement over the last few months still exists.

can you imagine the frustration at being constantly told this can’t happen when it’s happening 10 times a day and support cannot find the problem, yet still refuse to turn it off.

as for splitting hairs over open or over really what’s the difference it’s still over air and often over open WiFi if no 4g so truly both are correct.

I have not said anything on here that is untrue or abusive and I try to be reasonable with everyone but a few take offence over any bad statement in regards to Apple so whoever mentioned putting a name to it how else do you describe someone who won’t accept constructive criticism?

And has been patiently and politely acknowledged. Your issue is atypical.

No solution will be provided here. None.

Yet you continue to post citing the same complaint over and over again.

Apple will not respond to you here.
