Magic Mouse lagging and stuttering

Hi,

I currently own a 2018 MBP, with macOS 10.13.6 which I have just purchased recently. I'm using my Magic Mouse which is from my iMac (2009). Yes, this Magic Mouse runs on AA batteries.

It occurs all the time when I connect the mouse to MBP, it works only for about 10-15 minutes before the cursor becomes frozen, not responsive or stuttering. To troubleshoot this, I will have to switch off the mouse, then on to reconnect back to MBP. Then it works but again only for the mentioned duration. When it happens, I also checked if the cursor is working fine from the trackpad, and yes it is.

So, this is between the mouse and MBP.

Please help.

Cheers,

KC Lim

For Magic Mouse 1 that runs on AA batteries when batteries are low and needs to be replaced with new AA batteries or recharge AA batteries you must clean off the ➕ and ➖ contact points because every time you put in the AA batteries it builds up resin from the batteries. When the resin builds up everytime you replaced it with new AA or recycle AA batteries and the ➖ and ➕ points are not clean then you won't have a good contact with the new AA batteries.
