Do Not Disturb notification

Has anyone else had to clear off the explanatory notification about Do Not Disturb notifications from the lock screen several times an hour after upgrading to ios 12?

Any thoughts on how to keep it from coming back?

It’s a bug that seems linked to the auto-lock timing; if you auto-lock after 5 minutes for example but unlock your phone in less then it won’t appear - if you unlock after 5 minutes then it will.

The only fix to permanently get rid of it is to revert to manual locking.

Ended up having to disable DND mode because I need to see the notifications that are important. Thanks Apple for changing something without providing the simple option of togglling the stupid message.

I have DND enabled during my work day. I have no trouble seeing other notifications. They are completely visible below. You can also remove the DND banner temporarily.

Sorry Idris, but what you’re actually missing is that, whilst some people might accidentally turn on DND, there are plenty of us who don’t and deliberately have it on. And I would wager that the majority of the people on this thread complaining about this annoying new ’feature’ know whether or not DND is on or not. So explaining the ‘why’ isn’t actually helpful. All we‘re really looking for is information on whether this situation is customisable. The least Apple could’ve done is given us the option to switch the notification off permanently. And yes, I know how to leave product feedback.

I would rather not see this DND warning constantly. It would be nice to be able to turn it off. I can understand warning the user once after he enables DND or even warning him each time he powers up. But having this warning on my screen as permanent clutter is not what I want.

Why are you telling me? I can't do anything to change it. Tell Apple. Use the feedback link already (twice) provided.

Restarting my phone didn’t work. How do you actually fix this. I know my phone is in DND mode. I never turn it off. I cannot stand seeing that notification all the time, even after swiping it away minutes before. This needs a fix immediately.

Here is a real world reason I would like to see an option, in “Notifications”, to TURN OFF, the DND notification appearing on my iPhones lock screen. First, my home screen has NO folders or files, they start on the 2nd screen, and therefore my custom wallpaper can be seen in FULL when the phone is locked. Instead of using a useless image, I created an image with text. The text offers a reward if my phone is found, since it’s locked, the only way someone can possibly return my “lost” phone is by reading both my email address, and home phone number. This worked for me when I left my phone in a cab, and it was returned to me. BUT .......

Now the DND notification BLOCKS the text info on my home screen so if it were found, the lock screen text can’t be read! I have to get around to making another custom wallpaper and move the text so it’s no longer hidden. Being able to turn that DND notice OFF, would be preferable, having OPTIONS is always preferable!

I have Do Not Disturb continually scheduled to be on at night. I never turn it on or off. But each night when the scheduled time arrives, the notification comes back on. To me it is annoying because I have had it permanently scheduled for years so I don’t need or want a notification. Apple needs to add DND toggle to notifications so that people who want the notification, or don’t care, can leave it on and those who don’t want it can disable it.

Thanks for the reply- I have tried turning the phone off and on, as well as toggling DND off and on, but am still getting seeing a notification that looks roughly like this:

"DO NOT DISTURB

Calls and notifications will be silenced until Do Not Disturb is turned off."

Clearing the notification makes it go away but only temporarily. Also, the little crescent moon is on the notification as well as on display up by the battery meter, as it was on iOS 11.

Thanks again for the help. I realize this is a minor issue, but on my phone, DND is always on and the notification banner runs right over a very adorable picture of my very adorable son on the lock screen.
