iOS12: iPhone X display colors are slightly faded

After updating to iOS12, my iPhone X display colors are slightly faded and washed out. Colors was more vibrant with iOS11. Anyone else having this problem? i dont know if Apple will consider it as a Bug and will fix it on the next iOS12.1

SOLVED!!!

my issue has been completely resolved, screen is back to normal and beautiful again:

  1. Connect iphone to itunes
  2. Enter into recovery mode (see on youtube how to do it)
  3. Choose UPDATE (even if there is no updates for your iPhone)
  4. Once your phone will wake up from the process (itunes logo on screen will disappear, you phone will just enter standard operations, even without system re-instalation, you will have your screen back to normal!!!)

Worked like a charm!

Your "solution" does not work for me. My screen is still not operating to specification - the OLED display no longer fulfils Apple's claim of having "HDR display with the industry’s best color accuracy, true blacks, and remarkable brightness and contrast".

This is definitely a software issue, as it only manifests itself upon updating to iOS12. Apple therefore need to release a software fix.

Everyone, please please report the issue using the feedback form: Feedback - iPhone - Apple

I just updated to iOS 12 and immediately noticed the screen color and contrast is off on my iPhone X. My background image is a colorful painting and the reds look nearly not pink, almost fluorescent. The blacks aren’t as dark. It’s very noticeable to me, I hope there is a fix because the original iPhone X display was gorgeous but not after iOS 12 update.

I am also facing the same issue. My iPhone 7 earlier has so much vibrant colours. I fell in love with the first pic I took. Today I have upgraded it to 12 from 11.4.1 and the colours have totally faded out. Some yellowish tinge is coming in every picture and I am actually regretting buying it. The pictures do not have the same vibrance despite doing everything I could. I just wish that Apple gives me an option to downgrade it to 11.4.1 back. I am totally frustrated now. Did everything possible!

So once beautiful just one week ago working perfectly and seamless, my screen is now: dull, contrast not exist anymore, depth is gone, all looks just old crapy phone, skin is yellowish, white is pink yellowish cream, nothing helps, all changes and fixes in screen settings, reinstallation, full restore, turning off and on true tone - nothing.

MY IPHONE X after moving to iOS12 has become a piece of old dull in appearance rubbish (on top of colours, I have started to have tons of wifi problems)

I am going to go to Apple service and claim device as defective: here is why: if measured it does not have: brightness, contrast, colour gamut as promised in original specification and there is no way to have it with any available system from Apple, so... to me this is 7 months old Iphone X defective. I wonder what Apple can do with that device more than me, the only think they can is to roll it back to 11.4 - I can't do it, but on the other hand device does not work with official system iOS12 so to me it is defective.

BENCHMARK:

my wife iPhone 8Plus is now just SUPER HIGH CONTRAST SUPER BRIGHT DISPLAY comparing to my X: just to remind everyone: iPhone X contrast ratio 1.000.000:1, iPhone 8 plus 1300:1 - > Forget it, iPhone 8plus is now just much more bright and contrast difference is so huge, not possible even to describe! I took my old iPhone 4s from wardrobe (as memorable after last magnificent piece of work by Jobs) and guess what my iPhone X has almost identical brightness, similar colours (a bit duller) and a bit lower contrast level as iPhone 4s!!!! So Apple welcome back to 2011!!!

Went to local computer shop, they still has on display iPhone X with 11.4 iOS and putting them side to side to mine the difference is TOTAL, no words even to describe, this is not the same phone anymore as simple as that. I am missing my device!

On Tuesday I expect Iphone XS Max 256 arrival for my wife as Iphone 8plus replacement, I will use it in the meantime having mine in apple service (hope it has "normal" screen user experience despite iOS12 however some users are reporting also issues with those brand new phones!!!).
