HomeKit Automation & MyQ Chamberlain Smart Garage Door

Hi Everyone,

I have a question regarding HomeKit Automation & MyQ Chamberlain Smart Garage Door...

Using HomeKit, I seem to be having a problem automating the garage. I was wondering if someone knew what I was doing wrong, or if there is a workaround.

This is what my automation currently looks like:

However, whenever one of us leaves our home, even when the garage is closed, we get a notification asking if we want to run the automation. Why would we want to run the automation to close the garage door, when the garage door is already shut? I just honestly don't understand it...

Also, why do we always have to confirm the automation? I don't believe you have to confirm automations for smart locks like August. They just unlock when you get home, and lock when you leave.

I've thought about trying to use IFTTT, but Chamberlain requires you to pay a monthly subscription to link to that service. Not a whole lot of money, but I figure this isn't a crazy automation anyway and should just work correctly.

Does anyone have any idea how to fix this and make it work properly?

I have a similar issue. I want the automation to open the GD when I arrive. The “This automation requires confirmation to run” notice that you put in your screen shot appears on my automation page but I don’t get a notification asking if I want to run it as you do. Frustrating! I spent well over an hour on the phone with Apple support today and I’m convinced it’s a Chamberlain issue.
