I recently updated to iOS12 and I tried everything suggested in this thread. Didn't work for me either. However when I switched both apple music and iCloud library on and off in settings, the album art loaded properly. So try that.

Hi daejohn,

Welcome to Apple Support Communities. I understand that you're not seeing album artwork in Apple Music after updating to iOS 12. I know it's important for Apple Music to function properly; I'm happy to help. First, if you haven't already, close the Music app and restart your iPhone: How to force an app to close on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

If you're still unable to see album artwork, remove one of the affected songs or albums and add it back; does the artwork repopulate?

Does this affect songs that you've added to your Apple Music Library? Are you able to see album artwork when browsing Apple Music?

Do you use Apple Music with any other devices?

Best Regards.

Hi there!

I had the exact same problem as all of you where nothing would show except for the Apple Music logo on my covers. After trying all these solutions, nothing worked until I went onto my Macbook and plugged my iPhone in. I then went into the Summary where it shows your space available and Backups as well as the Serial Number and such. I did "Back Up Now" then hit "Restore Backup" immediately after so I have the exact same iPhone before I restored and when the process finished, ALL of my covers came back! Hope this is helpful!

You need to:

remove all downloaded music in the Music app

(only if you downloaded it from Music to iPhone. if you only added it to the library ignore this step)

  • switch off iCloud Music Library in both iPhone settings and iTunes
  • backup iPhone to computer or iCloud or both through iTunes
  • restore iPhone to factory settings through iTunes
  • restore iPhone to the backup though iTunes
  • turn iCloud Music Library back on in both iTunes and iPhone settings
  • Update iCloud Music Library through iTunes
  • sync iPhone through iTunes

Open the Music app on iPhone - all the artwork will be back.

This was happening to me too. I read the previous suggestions and none worked so.... this is what I do. I do apply some of the previous suggested steps and added a couple of caveats not mentioned, I hope this helps, (if you haven't resolved this issue):

  • From my iPhone went to Settings/Music/iCloud Music Library

    Turned Off/On

  • From my iPhone still in Settings/General/iPhone Storage

Offloaded Apps I don't frequently use, (to create space)

  • From my Mac went to Apple Music/iTunes Match

    Refreshed

  • Rebooted Phone

This takes me about 2 - 3 minutes and I get my artwork back. During my last phone software update, I didn't have enough storage space, so I needed to offload some apps to create space. Once I did that and updated my phone software, I noticed my album artwork came back as well. So I just followed this same process once my album artwork stopped downloading.

I hope this works for you.

Because of some conflict with my windows device, I had to properly reinstall iTunes. At the opening I was asked if I wanted to share information on my library with apple, it was written that this might help synchronizing devices and displaying artwork. While the iTunes app on windows wasn't giving me any problem till this day, I've been experiencing issues on my iPhone 5s with iTunes for a while.

Now everything is downloaded and displayed correctly.

The privacy setting can be modified on the windows application as following: Edit>Preferences>Store and tick the "Share details about your library with Apple".

Hope this can help.

Not sure why there is not an APPLE solution to this yet (or at least I cannot find one posted) but I did find a fix for this bug myself.

This issue she seems to be centered around “downloaded music”. Whenever I added new albums, the artwork wold not show up until I went into “downloaded music”, selected an album, and did delete > remove downloads. Sometimes I had to do a few, but all the recent added albums artwork would magically show up.

Everytime this issue occurred again, I would just delete a downloaded album (again just the stored music, not remove from library).

So naturally I got to the point where artwork was not showing up, but I had nothing left to remove from downloads. The solution to this is super dumb, and proves something very BUGGY is going on.

Select an album in your library. Downloaded it to phone. Once it’s done. Delete the downloads. All the blank album artwork showed up instantly.

Apple. Fix this crap...
