iTunes could not connect to this iPhone. You do not have permission.

Hi Peeps,

Can't seem to connect my brand new iPhone XS to itunes
so I can do a restore backup from my old phone 7.

Running the latest itunes - 12.8.0.159
On my Mac Pro Tower - running 10.13.5

I just keep getting - iTunes could not connect to this iPhone. You do not have permission.

Any help would be super appreciated.

Fixed.

I updated my Mac and did a full restart and it worked.

iTunes prompted me to download something for the iPhone XS.

Then it connected to iTunes and currently doing a restore backup.

So all fixed. what a pain in the bum 😁

I had the same issues, first updated to iTunes 12, then told to upgrade the OS to 10.11.6 which I have done, then once completed, there is one software prompt that needs to be installed once your phone is connected to your MAC, then eventually you'll be able to restore to your new device from backup. Apple should really warn users about this! My restore is now running so phew......
