Infographic face missing Mail and Messages complcation

Mr. Luigi: try moving Pedometer++ complication into one of the corner slots in the new Infographic face - when used in circular slot, it just shows a ring of progress, but when used in a corner slot it shows steps and a progress bar.

Similar to that, the paid versions of the Carrot weather app allow you to specify (via the preference settings in the iphone Carrot app) different information you want shown depending on where you put the complication.

In other words, if you put the Carrot complication in the left of the watch face it will show one thing (e.g. humidity, if you put it in the top it will show chance of precipitation, and if you put it in the corner it will show air pressure/barometer. For example, here is a "weather" face devoted entirely to seeing the weather at a glance. It was built entirely by reusing the Carrot complication multiple times in different locations then adding in Apple's first party Moonphase, Sunset, AQI and UV index complications in the remaining slots.

@J90JGD - the positions and complications might look similar, but behind the scenes they are probably different objects, or more accurately they will be two different subclassed objects derived from the same parent class. Because of the extended functionality and positions in the new faces it is likely some (all?) of the complications had to be re-coded from scratch rather than importing from the older faces, and the gremlins had a surprise waiting in final QA.

Yes!!!! This is exactly how we all feel. I upgraded from series 3 to 4 just for the two new faces and wished i wouldve known that my most relied upon complication - the basic and native MESSAGES app - isn’t supported!!!! Ridiculous!!!

The new watch faces shouldn't have been released without support for basic things like messages and mail complications. Its very deceptive to the consumer when you go from old modular to new modular and have these missing. These are things that you EXPECT to be there. NOT UV index. NOT windspeed. Priorities were definitely set wrong here!

OK, so you're disappointed at the absence of some complications on some of the new faces. I agree. But no features have been removed (just a number added) so it's not really a downgrade is it? That would be BS.

Same with mine. This by far my biggest (and really the only) complaint with the series 4. However it is a huge complaint. The first thing I did with it when unboxing was set up a new Infograph watch face. I was really upset to see I couldn’t add my most used complications: messages, email, phone. What was supposed to be an exciting experience quickly turned to one of confusion and disappointment. Come on Apple, make this right. Can’t be that hard.

Am sorry but those of you who say it’s not a big deal, speak for yourselves.... I know a certain CEO of Apple who would have not stood for this poor attention to detail.... nor would he have stood for delays in a major feature “not being ready”. Apple are saddly getting quite a habit for letting software go out that isn’t 100% finished

and before anyone says anything I am a massive Apple fan. One of my main reasons for getting a series 4 was for the infograph watch face and I ALWAYS use the messages complication so yes I was very disappointed to see it was not available.... Come on Apple get it sorted...

I just got the newest update and those complications STILL aren't on the infographic faces. I was shocked to see this. Not surprised as Apple Software is often crap, but this is a completely moronic oversight. Just stunning.

Same here! Cant customize it with mail, messager or phone. Tried both ways, phone and watch. No option available on the watch. Just shows up on the phone but doesn’t mirror to the watch. That sucks!!!

Not addressed in 5.01 evidently. Perhaps 5.1 as you say...

I agree its the dumbest thing not to be able to get notifications and have the phone access on the watch face. *** Apple???

AGREE!! Really surprised the mail and messages complications were omitted. It was a major feature release on earlier watch os versions, now its gone. So odd Apple did this.

The first thing we notice when me and my wife got our watch. Complications that I like is nowhere to be found on the NEW watch face. WEIRD ! I keep one of the old watch face for message and phone.

Just did an update and it still isn’t fixed. ☹
