IWatch 4 - check to see if OS 5.1.2 update is installed. If so and still nothing do this: Customize Inforgraph face for Messages & Mail via the customize function on the "watch" NOT using iPhone App... it should work. For some reason the iPhone App is not communicating all customizations.

screaming and whining from users with an overinflated sense of American Entitlement.

Do you seriously want to go there...
Its great that you personally might not heavily rely on these missing complications like the rest of us but there is definitely entitlement to ALL PEOPLE who buy an expensive upgrade and find out that its actually a downgrade with a bunch of removed features. Yes we are entitled to not having features removed regardless of whether they need to be "reworked" or "recoded" of whatever BS you want to say.

Sonic_375, so you believe that features have been 'removed'? Just to be clear, could you list these features? - i.e. those features that exist on a Watch 1/2/3 but do not exist on/have been removed from a Watch 4, making this a downgrade? (This is obviously very different to Watch 4 having new, additional features/faces which do not have the full set of complications you were expecting).

The new watch faces shouldn't have been released without support for basic things like messages and mail complications. Its very deceptive to the consumer when you go from old modular to new modular and have these missing. These are things that you EXPECT to be there. NOT UV index. NOT windspeed. Priorities were definitely set wrong here!

Well, it depends on your perspective I guess. How much should a watch cost? How much are people willing to pay? Relative to conventional mechanical watches, Apple Watches are ludicrously cheap. It's mildly disappointing (as noted above by many) that some of the features we all expected are not there, but those in the know (again above) suggest that they will come. And at no additional cost.

Same with mine. This by far my biggest (and really the only) complaint with the series 4. However it is a huge complaint. The first thing I did with it when unboxing was set up a new Infograph watch face. I was really upset to see I couldn’t add my most used complications: messages, email, phone. What was supposed to be an exciting experience quickly turned to one of confusion and disappointment. Come on Apple, make this right. Can’t be that hard.

Am sorry but those of you who say it’s not a big deal, speak for yourselves.... I know a certain CEO of Apple who would have not stood for this poor attention to detail.... nor would he have stood for delays in a major feature “not being ready”. Apple are saddly getting quite a habit for letting software go out that isn’t 100% finished

and before anyone says anything I am a massive Apple fan. One of my main reasons for getting a series 4 was for the infograph watch face and I ALWAYS use the messages complication so yes I was very disappointed to see it was not available.... Come on Apple get it sorted...

The new faces define a couple new types of complications, for example diagonal corner complications, and richer functionality for traditionally placed ones, so old complications (even first party ones made by Apple) need to be updated to work with WatchOS 5. It is not automatic. That updating has not been done yet. No one but Apple knows why. You are encouraged to give Apple your feedback about this issue - many of the posts in this thread include the link to the feedback form.

Kind of an odd oversight on the side of Apple here. I just upgraded my Watch Series 3 to Watch 4 and the Infograph face should include messages and mail at a minimum. I provided feedback appropriately. Otherwise, the watch is a major step up as far as I'm concerned!

That said, I did stumble upon this, which shows Apple is going to be updating the list of complications for Apple Watch 4 Infograph Face: More first-party complications coming to Apple Watch Series 4 Infograph watch face

Hope you're well!

As a premier and long standing member of your fan club, it would be an honor!!

Here's how I managed to get the latest and greatest:

Me: "But, how can I be on the Discussions forum and help people with their new devices, if I don't have a new device of my own to learn how to help them?"

Partner: "Just get it, you know you were going to buy it/them anyway!"

Only it's a win/win for us both, cuz I buy everything in pairs. We both get the latest and greatest!
