Buzzing Earpiece iPhone Xs

Purchased a new Xs Max last week. I'm experiencing the same issue during calls both over speaker phone and ear piece. Seems to occur when I have the volume up toward the higher end and especially when the person on the other end has a lot of background noise in their environment or is speaking loudly. Called support and was given the list of instructions, most of which I have already tried. The support agent requested I intermittently try turning bluetooth off, LTE off and using headphones over the next 24 hours to see if it changes anything. She's supposed to call back tomorrow afternoon to escalate my case.

This has happened numerous times to my phone as well. Is there a dedicated team from apple that has actually looked into this issue? I’m curious as to what next steps they’re applying to rectify the issue since it’s not only affecting a “small” amount of customers. Such a bummer!

It is never gonna get fixed because Apple is using cheap parts. The part that produces the noise must be the processor. What you have is a "hissing noise" or a "coil noise". It is normaly present in cheap hardware. Look at the other manufacturers. The devices are 100% silent. No noise in the background.

If you want to check it do like this. Put your ear on the back of the phone somewhere into the middle. Turn on and off the screen. You will notice the sound. The so called "best processor" is a terrible hardware.

it must be a manufacture defect with the speakers - only happens on calls !!

a premium company like apple that ignore thousands of complaints about rattling speakers on earpiece on voice calls which is the most important thing on a phone should be ashamed !!!

Same here. Good to not be alone. ☺️ Already got my XS changed but the problem still exists. I opened a case again at apple to keep them aware but didn’t plan further action yet. I’m attentively following this discussion here and hope to get any official statement from apple soon.

the earpiece isnt good on voice calls

its very hard to listen and you can hear the rattling\buzzing on the earpiece even if you lower the volume

I experience the same speaker jarring issue on my Xs over voice calls . have been going through this thread and understood that replacement is not a solution.

writing it here so that atleast apple responds and come up with a fix .

Hi, mine keeps doing this too? However it sounds more like an old phone ringing while I’m on the call. I’m not sure why this keeps occurring.. the noise is very annoying, yet creepy and sometimes can be extremely loud to the person on the other end. Why does this keep happening?

noise canceling doesnt help at all

it got something to do with the speaker of the calls. The buzzing/rattling never happens on music. Only during phone calls via speaker or earpiece

Having the same issue myself. Constant cracking and popping when the other person speaks, its the most irritating thing ever, can't understand what is being said.

I noticed however that it happens only when I initiate the call and not when I receive the call. Is that the same for you?

something is wrong here guys. On all iphone xs and apple is not going to take care of it

its been over 3 months since launch. No fix.

I have iPhone XS (Verizon). The same thing. Crackling sound while on the phone call or watching video. Happens very rarely, but happens. Apple support offered replacement over the phone. Do they ship replacement phone in the same retail box or it is like blank white box?

p.s. I’m using the latest iOS , wiped phone, and did everything what apple support team said.
