Mophie Wireless Charger + iPhone Xs Max charging problem

Hi all,

Since I got my iPhone Xs Max, I'm having charging issues with my Mophie wireless charging base (the one that's sold on the Apple Store app, which is where I bought it). It works fine with my iPhone X. The Xs Max says it's charging, but in the morning it has not charged and is nearly dead.

At first I thought the haptics might be causing it to shake off alignment with the base, but I started putting it on do not disturb mode for the night and it hasn't helped, so that's not the problem.

Anyone else having similar issues? Is this a known problem Apple is addressing?

The Apple Store app says that this charging base is compatible with Xs Max, so I am hesitant to buy a different model since this one is having problems (so I'm not confident that the others won't have the same problem).

Unfortunately I believe it’s a mophie issue. I am experiencing the same issue with my mophie charging base 7.5 watt. It worked fine with my iPhone X but doesn’t fully work with my iPhone XS.

I read another community post about the belkin wireless charging. I checked mophies website and it looks like for the 7.5 watt it doesn’t say that it is compatible with the XS. It says iPhone X and other QI-enabled devices so I’m not sure if it’s meant to include iPhone XS (new models) but I assume no which is why they started to sell the 10 watt (new model)

I reached out to their support team to confirm this or see what can be done. It’s frustrating that something I paid $60 for pretty much is useless if that’s the case. I’ll keep you updated.

I often find that I need to place my iphone 8 plus down on my mophie wireless charger in just the right spot for it to charge. And I place it down with a little more force than I usually would, almost to wake it up.

When I put phone's lower half centred over the base it picks up that its charging more often.

Not sure if any of that helps, but there you go 🙂

This happens to me as well, and I've tried with multiple wireless chargers - all that have worked just fine with my former X. Different from the now infamous "charge gate" issue where a phone's charge won't activate when plugged in and until the screen wakes, setting the device on a wireless charger will enable the charge at first but then somewhere in the night it stops.

I have woken up to either a totally dead device or one that has less than 5% remaining in the past couple of days. This is extremely disruptive to my day-to-day, and needs to be addressed by Apple asap.
