Screen flicker on iPhone XS

The issue is corrected in iOS 12.1.2 beta.

i founded the issue is related with night-shift, true-tone and screen record.

night-shift on + true-tone on: flickering

night-shift off + true-tone on: flickering

night-shift on + true-tone off: flickering

night-shift off + true-tone off: no flickering

if you open the screen record, there's no any issue.

night-shift on + true-tone on + screen record on : no flickering

Just notice this issue couple weeks ago.

I also have the same exact issue. The screen flickers when passes certain threshold with or without auto brightness. You have to slide the screen brightness very slowly if you want to reproduce this problem manually. And the problem appears to me just when I activated true tone and/or night shift. Without true tone and/or night shift, there is no flickering problem at all. Really annoys me because I am starting to like the true tone feature.

Yes is corrected but not 100% if you have “Reduce white point ON” still is the same issue, and if you use just night shift and true tone still have very small flicker or stutter at around 85%. Completely corrected is just when are all disabled. (Night shift+true tone+reduce white point).

same issue here. flickering at this point, when i set night-shift and true-tone off it is no flicker anymore

Hello there Guys, I just update to ios 12.1.2 beta 1 and the problem is resolved but just on Night shift or True tone! But If you use in combination with “Reduce white point ON” from >Accesibility>>Display Accomodation still is the same issue with “flicker on adjusting brithtness”... hope will fix this with beta 2 !

iPhone XS Max is my first device with TrueTone feature and I wanted to give it a try. Fast forward I really like this feature. But then I noticed the screen flickers when the display color temperature is on yellowish side. I turned night shift on and it also did the same thing. It always flickers when passes a certain threshold (in this case, it also flickers when passes the ‘S’ letter in brightness. It happens both manually and with auto brightness. This problem only occurs when either TrueTone or nightshift on (the display must be yellowish). When I turned off TrueTone or nightshift, it doesn’t happen. What blew my mind is, I went to apple store and tried all the demo-iPhone with OLED-display (XS, XS max) and all of them has the same issue. The phone with LCD-display don’t have this problem. Then after that I went to my local electronic store and tried with the Samsung devices (S8, S9, Note 9) because the OLED-displays were made from samsung. I turned on the bluefilter on the samsung devices and all of them don’t have this issue. I hope this is just a software bug. Really annoys me.

What did you do guys after all!? I found I have the same issue like you guys, iPhone Xs Gold 64 GB. Is my 3rd replacement, First 2 have physical damage out of the box, firs on the back side of the glass on the beautiful gold colour have a black dot, and second out of the box was display cracked in the middle, with the third all perfect just this issue with brightness, I found by me I experienced this just when is combined with reduce white point from accessibility , if reduce white point is disabled don’t happens , I call the support and they said is 100% a hardware issue, hmm and they said I am the only one with this issue, but how I said? I give you the thread number from apple discussions, after 15 min of waiting the answer was send the info to engineers and my phone they send me a box to send it for repair, after almost 2 months, 1149 € paid and 2 replacement after first Xs, I send my iPhone to repair, is very convincing. I believe in a change of this kind of problems with the first units almost every year with different issues , new gates.....And who we have same issue we must to call support to tell this, if are more same complains will be a fast solution available, maybe just a new update!

I’ve just noticed this on my max. Only on certain pictures saved from web or very colorful pictures. Not a strobing flicker, more like an extremely quick pulsing on the image. I did turn off trutone and wait about 20 seconds and doesn’t do it. It’s something to do with certain colors and combined with light areas. For example: if I look at a picture outside or in bright lights, no issues. If I’m in a poor lit room with ambient outdoor light, it will flicker bad until I hold the phone steady for a minute or so.....

I should add I’m on an Xs Max...so potentially software if it’s happening on both Xs models. Seen some other posts on this including one person who had 2 Xs Max models and both were doing it, and another who got a replacement only to find it was doing the same.

Try switching truetone of deels to disapear when hou do this. I have the dame issue
