Continuity camera doesn't work - time out error

I update my macbook pro 2015 to Mojave last night and did the same with my iPhone 7 last week (to iOS 12).

I was really excited about the camera continuity options but somehow it just won't work.

The problem occurs everywhere (in finder, in notes, in mail, etc). When I right-click and select import from iPhone and select take photo I get the message (after a few seconds) "cannot import from iPhone a time out of the device occurred".

Handoff etc is working fine (both ways from MacOS to iOS and reverse). Handoff, bluetooth is enabled etc. and devices are on the same network (Routed ATC latest gen)

How do I get it working properly?

I had the same problem, it not only requires you to have bluetooth and wifi on, but i had to go to my bluetooth setting on my computer and select to my phone to connect to via bluetooth. After i paired the iPhone with the computer it works as advertised.
