Mac OS Mojave Scanner Not Working

Hi,

Installed Mac OS Mojave yesterday, my printer (Samsung M2070) cannot scan any kind of document. The problem is that it returns an error when I try to scan with JPEG, TIFF etc.

Anyone find a workaround? All functions of the printer work great in High Sierra.

Hi guys,

Same here: I have a Samsung C460W (basically the same as Stargoose above) and it's not scanning as it should. It does all the preview steps, scan and fails when trying to save as image (PNG, JPEG, etc.) with an error message.

If I choose PDF, it succeeds in saving a file, which is corrupted and can't be opened by any app (Preview, Acrobat or any other). It's connected via WiFi to my LAN. Prior to Mojave, it was working fine.

I've tried removing all the printers and adding again: useless.

On the other hand, using the provided software (Samsung Easy Printer Manager, v1.02.07 (2015-07-06)) the scanner works perfectly.

When will Apple release a statement/solution for this matter?

For sure this answer is Apple recommended :-)

It's someone else's fault :-D

I had three Macs running High Sierra: iMac (27" Mid 2011); macMini (Late 2014); macBook Pro (15" 2017)

All were on the same Network/Wifi, all were printing and scanning perfectly.

I updated the macMini and the macBook (not the iMac, because Apple doesn't support it anymore) and both cannot scan anymore. My iMac running HighSierra still works perfectly and can scan without issues.

So for my understanding, for sure, the blame is on Samsung :-)

Why the attitude dude? How does THAT help?

1) Many of us have tried resetting without effect as already explained in many other posts…

2) as of yesterday Samsung support does not provide anything for Mojave

3) This is not just an issue for Samsung but for other brands as well, again as written by many other users in previous posts…

4) It all started with Mojave, everything was fine with previous OS’s... so Apple should definitely look into it.

Peace&Love

If I hadn't investigated, I wouldn't have shown up here, or would I ?

Seriously, is there a button to vote down your answer? It's not helpful and it's a joke that Apple recommends it.

Did you actually read the Topic? Hundreds of Scanners from all kinds of brands stop working at the same time.

For some reason, this timeslot matches with Apples Update. So do you really think this is a conspiracy of all brands to disable scanners? Or is there a chance in your mind pattern, that one might think -> it's Apple related?

You seem to be a smart one, how about you accept that others might be as smart.

These folks might only come here if the problem is real. I don't even dare to Login before testing all possible solutions I can find elsewhere. And currently, my only solution to avoid apples bug is to keep using my iMac (High Sierra) for scanning.

Most of the commenters are able to run previews and can scan. The issue is the broken PDF, JPG, ...

So what could Samsung (or any other brand) contribute to avoid broken PDFs after the TWAIN-data is transferred successfully? And I can see that the data is successfully transferred by looking at the overview-scan.

Looking forward to your answers. Best regards, no hard feelings :-)

Have got same experience. not possible to scan photo file extensions after update to mojave OS.

Find Apple respond to this problem to nothing.

Maybe apple consider this problem to be a fake user problem ?

Does Apple participate in this community ?

I got zero help from Samsung which I guess is now owned by HP as I had to contact Samsung who put me on to HP who didnt have a Scooby Doo about what the problem was.

When I upgraded to Mojave as my Mac didn't have a password entered I couldn't get into my Mac as the first screen was asking for a password. I had to boot up into safe mode and then create a password. To me Apple didn't think this update through!

Although Vuescan works I'm not sure I want to spend a small amount of money of this program as its not from an Apple trusted source and why can't Apple make a version of this software to make us all happy. I've looked at new printers and non say Mojave compatible on the box. OK I've only tried Costco and Tesco. I run a small business and only print about 20 pages a day so I don't want to be spending hours looking for a new printer.

Mojave was the worst thing to happen to my Mac!
