Mac OS Mojave Scanner Not Working

As of the 10.14.4 update, Mojave appears to support my Samsung C460 with color scanning. This works both via Image Capture and PDFScanner -- I'm relieved that Apple was able to fix this and hope it doesn't crop up again.

I had the same problem, printing works fine over WLAN, but scanning didn't work at all.

I solved it another way, because you'll not get any useful information nor a solution from the printer manufacturer.

The solution is to disable the IPv6 protocol in the WLAN settings of the printer.

There seems to be a misunderstanding between the printer and mac by using this protocol (also see error -9932).

After that scanning works fine over system preferences->printer-> scan.

mac: Mojave 10.14; printer: Canon Pixma

For all the scanner drive which not work with Mac Mojave, just try the old fashioned way as i did by using Import from Printer function in Preview. It works perfectly! Took me 4 hours to find a proper free scanning software for Mac desperately and finally, after questioning myself many times why Mac doesn't develop a single built-in app for the very basic and essential function like this, I founded one that saved my life, so I'm sharing this to all that facing the same problems. Thank you for your post. I have a Samsung C460 and when Majove was released in 2018. It would not scan on the printer. I went back to OS High Sierra and all worked again. Have you tried scanning many pages “combined” into a PDF document. Does this work?

You will not be hearing from Apple on this matter, nor a “solution”. Apple does not develop or produce printer/scanner drivers. It is up to the printer manufacturer to keep their product compatible with the current version of macOS, whatever that may be. You should also have noticed by now that this “issue” is primarily limited to Samsung products (which are now developed by HP). Other printers/scanners continue to work just fine with Mojave, including my Epson WF-2860 and my ancient HP Laserjet 1022. Samsung/HP need to release a fixed version of their drivers for this to be resolved, not Apple.

Same here on my Samsung C460FW. Prescan is available, saving any kind of format is causing an error. Very annoying...

Have you tired scanning with Preview or Image Capture?

So, there are two "fixes"

1. Use Apple Scanner function, but do not scan in color mode.

2. Use Samsung Document Creator
