Phone calls drops + wi-fi issue on Iphone XS max

I have the auto lock turned off and the raise to wake turned off and still having the same problems. I can be a minute or two into a conversation and it shuts off, or sometimes right when I say hello it shuts off. Very annoying for a brand new phone.

I have the same issue.

when I leave home (at home connected with wifi) i turn on LTE, it says "could not activate cellular data network" while data LTE is on.

Also, ( while lte is on) when i make a call, call fails, and cant receive calls too. I am in US with T-mobile. I called T-mobile several times, they can't fix the problem there no issue on their side - saying it's Apple issue and need to contact them. so hoping to solve thru this forum or Apple expert will shade light on this issue. I have iphonexs bought in Jan 2019.

Okay, I’m going for it, trying James1244’s fix on my XR. This is my first iPhone. I own all Apple computers, laptops, iPads. Just wanted to keep a Droid to have variety. Broke down and got this frickin XR to upgrade and have regretted it from Day 1. Hope it works.

My new iphone XSMax has the same issue. I'm in Australia currently on the Telstra network.. I never had this problem with my old iphone X or any previous phone, and none of my friends or family have this issue.. Yes I've cleaned the SIM card too.

This is obviously either a hardware or software problem with the iphone XS Max as this issue is being reported on other forums as well.

Is there a fix for this, or should I return the phone?

Did you ever get this issue resolved, as I'm having the same problem with my XR. No help from Verizon or Apple, have done the resetting and restoring to factory settings, nothing has worked.

It doesn’t work I have tried everything suggested on this thread and I’m still dropping calls. The weird thing is it only drops certain people on my contact list.

Me too. I do wish that the issue was truly fixed and that I could have both features... I don’t need the “raise to wake” feature nearly as much as clear phone calls. Thanks!

Have the iPhone XR and calls will drop randomly or hang up when I answer the phone... or the other person on the end can’t hear me when I talk. Help!!!!

Just want to let you know it’s happening to myself as well, hopefully bugs in the iOS 12!

It’s just weird that I had iOS 12 beta on my iPhone X and never had this issue once, I hope it’s not issues with the XS Max hardware

Having the same problem. Internet browsing and social media apps are all loading slower than my previous 7 Plus as well. Dropping phones left and right, but only when conversing with other iPhone users. Just switched my LTE settings to Data only so hopefully that will fix it.
