iPhone XS Max Wifi Problem

I have google wifi router in my home. My iPhone X was always connected to the 5 GHz channel but my new iPhone XS Max prefers the 2.4 GHz channel. The internet speed on the new iPhone XS Max is much slower than iPhone X.

I have called Apple regarding this issue but no luck yet.

I upgraded from the iPhone 7 Plus model to the iPhone XS Max. I have nothing but issues with connecting to my router. Areas where I know would connect easily to my iPhone 7 Plus, are not connecting at all to my iPhone XS Max. I even have a WiFi extender in my house; still bad to no signal at all reception. I also noticed that my cell reception is showing 1 bar less than someone else who has the same service as me (Verizon). This is very frustrating.

I too have been having issues with my WiFi reception. My old 7 Plus gets way better reception and speed than my new iPhone XS Max from the same room.... my iPhone 7 Plus was reading 200+ mbps and my XS Max was reading 12 mbps from the same place in my house... and that’s taking into consideration that I have reset the phone and network settings.... honestly regretting buying the new phone and should have stuck with my 7 plus

Yeah it turned out that it was the network, however I was confused because I had the same problem on WiFi, so I change phone networks and got the same phone from a different company, and what I noticed was that the software of the phone itself was slightly different to the previous phone, you could say that the new company’s phone was designed for that specific company, so in fact the network you use does however effect the phone even on WiFi.


The best example i can give is that, if you and a police officer had the same Ford Mustang, your car would be tuned/made slightly different to what the police officer has because the police officer car would be tuned/made to suit the police officer needs and line of work.

Hello,

I’ve hade the Max since launch day and at first it was amazing. As of late, it has become unreliable with connections and I was wondering if this has something to do with the last update.

i have tried everything with the exception of a manufacture reset as I’m afraid I will lose connections with important data I have saved, seeing as how I am unable to retrieve anything from icloud, (That’s an entire other issue, thank goodness for google.)

it seems like I have payed double the price for a product that refuses to work for what it wa hyped up up to be.

My battery drains insanely fast as It seems like I am endlessly waiting for content to load. Most of the time I spend on my phone is trying to get it to work.

its gotten to the point that I dug out my Onld SE and I find that I am using that more and More over my new expensive piece of crap.

Im just waiting for 5g to roll out as I am done with your trillion dollar go fund project. Quick math shows that breaking my apple addiction may cost more at first but in the long run I won’t be tied to your exclusivity anymore.

NO I did not! And I am disgusted. I'm about to get fired from my job as what I need to do is taking me an extra 1-2 hours PER DAY with this slow wifi. I've swapped phones, used other friends Iphone Xs's same problem. This will get fixed when and addressed by apple I hope. What am I to do now? I'm past the 30 day return. Can't get my money back. They will just give you new phones, and that doesn't fix the problem.
