Mac Mini peripherals issue

Everytime I wake-up my mac mini, the wireless mouse does not connect. I try resyncing the mouse via the usb adapter but doesnt seem to work - I end up having to turn off and then restart the computer...why? The keyboard and mouse are from Dell.

Another similar issue - everytime i wake-up my mac mini, I have to unplug the speakers and then plug them back into the audio out port for sound to come out...why?

I'm new to Macs - do I need to take extra steps when using different vendor peripherals?

Hi irshad,

Thanks for reaching out in Apple Support Communities. I understand that you're having trouble with your wireless mouse and external speakers not working when you wake your Mac. I can see why you'd reach out for assistance with this; I'm happy to help. I'd recommend using the steps below to reset both the NVRAM and System Management Controller on your Mac:

Reset NVRAM or PRAM on your Mac

How to reset the System Management Controller (SMC) on your Mac

Take some time to test for both issues you mentioned after these resets and let me know what you find.

Best Regards.
