Logic Pro "not responding" on launch

When I try and launch Logic Pro, I'm getting nothing but the spinning beachball, and "Logic Pro X (not responding)" in the Force Quit Applications popup.

I've tried launching with Ctrl held down to bypass core audio (as per a suggestion I found in one thread), and the result is the same apart from being asked whether I want to launch the core audio driver.

This was happening with 10.4.1, so I downloaded the 10.4.2 update and it behaved the same.

(I hadn't used Logic for a couple of months, and may have updated my system since last running. Running 10.13.2 on a mid-2015 15-inch MacBook Pro. This is happening whether or not any external USB devices are plugged in.)

Help!

Have you tried to launch it with CoreAudio disabled? Press and hold Control key while launching the app. Click "Don't Lauch" when you get the alert. That will disable CoreAudio, but Logic will indicate if there are issues. Most likely you have a 3rd party plugin misbehaving. You may disable that plugin in Plug-in Manager: Logic Pro X > Preferences > Plug-in Manager.
