Battery Conditioning

Have just got my new iPhone XS and thought I would do my best and look after the battery. Looked online for advice and there’s tons of different suggestions:

never charge it to 100% but keep it between 50-80%.

charge it always to 100% and drain in every so often.

i can’t actually find any advicr from Apple. So, what’s the best advice?

These are the support guides:

My experience (since 2009, when I bout my first iPhone 3g).

I charge it overnight (keeping in mind that when the battery reaches 100%, iphone stops charging), and

I don't use to let the battery go down below 20%, when I can).

Using this method, my iphones batteries life has always been around 2,5-3 years, and even more.

Charge it and use it! The phone will automatically stop charging (no over charging) at 100% and continue to use the charger for power to run the phone, so you don’t need to disconnect until you need to walk away with the phone. Try not to run the battery below about 20% in routine use, because lithium batteries don’t like deep discharge, and at 20% you have a little in reserve for that unexpected emergency call. Lithium phone batteries don’t have the dreaded memory effect so you can plug it in any time and top up, anyone who says you need to calibrate by using the battery until the phone shuts down is erm... misguided in the extreme.

Like most things Apple, “it just works” so go enjoy your new phone.
