On a mid-2012 MacBook Pro, can I use my thunderbolt port to connect to a hub with multiple USB ports? If so, specific hub? Also what is another name for that specific Thunderbolt connection?

Thanks, but this is a mid 2012 MacBook Pro, with a Thunderbolt (no number, so likely a Thunderbolt 1) port. USB-C port on this mac does not exist.
