Adding google account to HighSierra

Hi everyone,

Today my MacPro operating with HighSierra 10.13.6 was not recognizing my google password and could not effectively login into my gmail. I deleted the account and now I cannot add it. Nothing happens onceI try to add the google account and select the apps that I want to use with the account: Mail, Contacts, Calendar, and Notes. The screen does not move and my only available button is cancel.

Please let me know if anyone has faced this before and how to resolve it.

Does your Google account have 2-factor authentication? If you don't have, visit this page Password for the app

to generate a specific password, which will be different.

Hi Franher,

It may be that you have 'Less secure apps' disabled. As Google sees Apple Mail as such a thing.

To check / enable this, simply search 'less secure apps and click on the top link.

There will be a link there to access the setting, click this and you will be shown whether it's enabled or not.

It did not, but I can now see that Google is blocking my, "Unsecured App," from logging in!

I'm been trying to solve this across all my devices all evening! These two are not playing well together and it's costing me valuable time.

I have tried all the solutions and now can't even add my account back onto my desktops...
