MacBook Pro (15-inch, 2016) Mother board
Really dissatisfied with my MacBook Pro (15-inch, 2016).
After having a 2012 macbook pro and loving it, I thought I would go all out and get everything specked up with the new mac but I have had nothing but issues with this device.
At first the space bar was submitting double taps giving me full stops... constantly (so.my text.was.like this)
Luckily I purchased apple care and this was fixed.
After receiving my macbook pro back from Stormfront (Truro) I had a multitude of new issues. The fingerprint sensor was not working, the screen kept freezing then the device went very laggy.
I put up with it for a few months, did a complete system restore only to find that it did not fix it. Back to stormfront I went.
After a couple of weeks I got a call saying it was a problem with the motherboard - I had read a lot of reviews about the mother boards failing on the new touch bar macs.
The tech guy said that the water tabs had been triggered but there is no signs of water damage so it will not be covered and is going to cost over £700
This made no sense to me as the mac has never been near water, nor has anyone else used it. It lives in my shop (which is a vape shop) Could the tabs be triggered by e-liquid vapour? If so, this is a major flaw as this device cost nearly £3500 and next to it is 2 PC's that I bought for £700 each which are still going strong?
I distribute e-liquids to thousands of other vape shops, many of them use the older macbooks and have not had issues with vapour.
I feel really disappointed with the apple care plan that will not cover the motherboard failure even though the tech guy said there is no signs of water damage or even any water spots, corrosion etc.
Any advice would be appreciated. I just cant afford or justify £700 + to fix a manufacturing defect
