iOS 12 battery drain too painful

I’m now 6 days with IOS 12 on an iPhone 6 with new (95%) battery.

I‘m losing 10% per hour with no usage and every conceivable culprit turned off. So much so that Low Power mode makes no difference.

I understand “indexing” after an update but this day 6!

So how is a devise usable at any price if a new battery won’t last through the day WITHOUT EVEN BEING USED?

After 10 years I’m done with Apple and the forever battery problems.

Sure the products are nice but if we are all walking around with numerous features turned off due to battery life WHATS THE POINT?

What is “power IC”?

It only shows things I’ve used, if any. There was an hour yesterday the battery went from 50% to 35% with only 3 minutes of usage. 1m home screen, 1m settings (looking at battery) and 1m on a weather app.

i am only getting 8 hours with no calls, no texts, no email, no safari, no notifications, no location services, no background apps, in low power mode.

Airplane mode seems to stop drain but nothing else I can find.

Phone is 4 years old. Needs a battery every year or so (500 charge cycles).

Apple stores don’t exist in many places so they aren’t option for many of us or when traveling and after one battery replacement Apple won’t touch the device for any reason.

Not sure what you think could have been messed up by replacing the battery. It says 95% capacity, it charges and monitors and continuously depletes only after IOS 12 upgrade.

Thanks

but I’m not seeing what in that article is applicable.

1. Apple has always had battery usage issues and we all have to turn off numerous features to make it through the day.

2. IOS 12 is seriously draining many batteries and no one knows why, and is unaddressed by Apple.

3. Blaming a battery because it was replaced by anyone but Apple is a cop out. There is nothing difficult or secret about battery replacement. They are necessary pretty much every year And. No one should have to take a day off work to drive 100 miles to the Apple store for a battery replacement.

4. Supports the assumption that each IOS upgrade is meant to make older phones obsolete. I don’t subscribe to that and I will not use this issue to upgrade to a new Apple.

If this continues I’ll just try the other brand I guess.

I have the same issue. Battery, which is just over 1 year old, on the latest os, drains at about 1% per minute when e.g. browsing internet on wifi. I aldo get shutdowns At lowish batt %.

Apple's solution offered in the support call today? - This is within spec. Pay 25 quid for batt replacement.

Anyone finds this fair? No prduct should shutdown and loose batt that fast while within spec, within just over a year of new batt being installed. If batts are consumables, they should be user replaceable.
