Hi,

I am having a problem with Safari.

It started today after trying to connect my iPhone (with new iOS 12) to itunes.

First itunes, doesn't recognize my iPhone anymore.

I will try to fix that.

My problem now is with Safari.

Here is the message I get.

Would appreciate if someone could help

I am on a Macbook pro. osx 10.10.5 - Safari broken after itunes update.

For a 'dirty fix' I just deleted, (moved to trash), the following file... MobileDevice.framework

this is located /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/MobileDevice.framework

Safari started up again fine straight away and I haven't noticed any issues since.

/System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/MobileDevice.framework

You are welcome.

Try setting up another admin user account to see if the same problem continues. Please post back on whether or not this worked. Also try the Safe Mode. Please post back on whether or not this worked.

If it works in the Safe Mode, try running this program when booted normally and then copy and paste the output in a reply. The program was created by Etresoft, a frequent contributor. Please use copy and paste as screen shots can be hard to read. Click “Share Report” button in the toolbar, select “Copy to Clipboard” and then paste into a reply. This will show what is running on your computer. No personal information is shown.

To be honest, I can't say for sure what effect this fix will have on other systems at the moment.

I haven't looked into it any further as I was just pleased to be working again and haven't seen anything yet.

If I get the chance to look deeper and get to the bottom of it I will post again. However, hopefully Apple will fix this before I need to.

My best guess for the number of issues suddenly popping up...??? Perhaps the latest iTunes update shares common files with later, incompatible OS X releases.

Please post if you find anything.

Happy Christmas all.
