After updating all of my devices to iOS 12, I can no longer use AirDrop between my iPhone X and my iPad mini 4. Each device will AirDrop to and from my iMac, which has been updated to Mojave. I have gone through all of the recommended remedies that I can find, both on Apple's site and others. I don't understand why they each work with my iMac and not each other.
Has anyone else had this issue?

Thank you Joseph. I had already tried most of these suggestions, but I went through them in the order that you presented. This problem started when I updated to iOS 12, so I updated both my iPhone X and iPad mini to 12.0.1. With both devises set to Everyone, they will "see" each other, but decline the photo or note, etc., it doesn't ask me, it automatically declines. I'm truly at a loss for what is causing the problem.
I have iPhone 6 and iPad Air, since update to ios12 they will not airdrop to each other, says ‘declined’. I also have Mac laptop and it will work with these devices. I am also able to airdrop with others. I have call into apple care and so far no fixes

Came here looking for a solution too. My iPad Pro & iPhone 6s will not Airdrop to each other anymore. They will do so with my other non-iOS12 iPads tho'.....

BTW---I've tried all the various fixes found online, signing in & out of iCloud or the Network, rebooting, messing with Bluetooth, WiFi to no avail....
As i rely on Airdrop heavily, will NOT be updating my other iPad's to iOS12 until there is a fix.
I followed very single step you’ve suggested, It does not work at all.
