Photo/camera roll/backup/update issue

so at the weekend My phone started crashing, everytime It did the photos would vanish , then after short while It would start restoring.

As I've not done a backup on over a year I was worried about losing all my pictures, so I connected to my itunes using my friends Mac. My memory on my iPhone was full, i deleted all my messages and freed up over 10gb which seemed to stop the crashing issue.

After a bit of a struggle I managed to save all my photos to my friends Mac.

However I cannot seem to backup or update my phone to latest iOS , both keep failing, this is both via the phone and iTunes

Back to my photo issue, I cannot access any of my photos via iMessage/Instagram/whatsapp/fb etc etc.

everytime I try to click to send/share a photo nothing happens, I can't even see the camera roll.

If I click on my photo app and click on Albums it shows all photos being there, however if I click onto photos by year, it only

goes back to Nov of 2017 (my photos go back way further than this) also if I try to delete pictures within 10 seconds the photo reappears .

I have also tried to take photos, however they do not save to the phone.
