I backed up all my photos to iCloud before getting a new phone. After I gave away the old phone I deleted it from 'My Devices' in my Apple ID. Now all those photos have vanished from iCloud. Is there any way of recovering them? It contained all the photos of my son from the last 2 years including his birth. I'm so upset.

Are you sure you backed up to icloud What does iCloud back up? - Apple Support and not sync to icloud Set up and use iCloud Photos - Apple Support if the latter you can try Get help with missing photos - Apple Support
