Iphone not syncing with ITunes

Hi All,


Running MacOS High Sierra Version 10.13.6

Running ITunes Version 12.8.0.150


Usually, I simply plug in my Iphone 8 (fully updated) and my ITunes will either open and sync or I will go ahead and open ITunes and it will sync.


After these last updates with iOS12 on my Iphone 8, nothing happens.


In ITunes>File>Devices>Sync is greyed out


I've checked my USB Ports and they read my Iphone when it is plugged in.


Not sure how to fix this so my ITunes will sync and backup my phone again.

Download the current iTunes 12.8 installer from https://www.apple.com/itunes/download/.

Unlock your iOS device and connect it to USB.

Install iTunes from the .dmg that you've downloaded.

During the installation it should announce that a further software update is required.

Install that and iTunes should see your devices.


Or see If your iOS 12 device isn't recognized by iTunes, you might need to upgrade macOS or iTunes - Apple Support.
