Malwarebytes Updates

I have begun receiving "Version Update Available - A new and improved version of Malwarebytes is available". Since I purchased by MacBook Air back in 2012, I have NEVER received security/malware notifications so I'm not sure why I've recently begun receiving them. Is this software legitimate and does it have Apple's 'blessing' to be used on Macs?

Malwarebytes is one of the few security apps that are recommended by the top members of these forums. So yes, it’s legitimate. Have you ever installed it on your MacBook, and perhaps forgot about it? Are you getting these update notifications in email or from somewhere else? Malwarebytes is a subscription app, meaning you pay every year to keep it active.

Malwarebytes will notify you via a notification panel when a newer version is available. It will not do this if the product has never been installed, or possibly it may if you did not fully uninstall it via its Help menu.

I use, and recommend the product. Many of my friends, who have used this product at my mention, have found, and removed legitimate malware infestation from their Macs.
