weird symbol names showing up for wifi network names

Hi Community

When our internet cut out(cause our internet cuts when the phone rings) and i went to sign back on to the network i found a whole lot of weird symbols in the place of network names.

I do not know what the symbols mean or where they come from but i turned the network off and on again and they were gone. Any help as to figuring out what they are would be much appreciated.
