BIP sound waves too big?
So I had drummer midi track which I needed to Bounce in Place,
I have chosen BIP, and the new audio track sound waves look HUGE. why is this?
Many thanks

But do they SOUND ok though?
If they sound OK, it could simply be that you have your waveform zoom set to bigger than 'normal'. Turn it off, and the waves will look "fitting" again.
If that isn't it, and it also sounds too loud, look at how the plugins on your drummer track are set, turn down their Gain if necessary, or bypass 'm alltogether before you BIP (and simply copy them over to the BIPped track afterwards).

What kind of plugins do you use on your Drummer track? Loads of compression perhaps? Or Is there region gain? Anyway, if it sounds as you want it to sound, there's nothing wrong, really.
Does the BIP audio null with the original EZ Drummer track?
Hi Eriksimon
It sounds fine, the wave zoom isnt on, and the wave fills it almost completely white.
Just the usual plug ins which come with EZ drummer, I added nothing else!
Will take a look at the region gain however
Hi octopi
Sounds the same as the original EZ drummer track.
Is this what you mean?
Is this what you mean?
No.
But Pancenters answer is bang on. A null test would just be interesting (to me anyway).
Cheers octopi
can you tell me what a null test is out of interest!
That's what the waveform looks like after being processed with whatever plugins you have on the track. It's exactly what you're hearing. You can go into the red on individual tracks because of Logic's incredible headroom (still not recommended) but as long as it's not driving the output bus into the red it's generally considered safe. I wouldn't want too many tracks like that though.
