Broken screen because of broken keyboard key

Hello everybody,

I bought my MacBook Pro 13 inch with function key's in december of 2017 in MediaMarkt in the Netherlands.

After a few months the left shift key was not reacting to every key stroke. I thought that the problem would go away after a while. But it did not so I bought a can of compressed air and cleaned the keyboard. But that had no effect. At that time I aware about the keyboard problems. The problem became worse. The left shift key became loose. It came off. Now I had to go to a authorised Apple reseller. When I came there I told the workers that the left shift key came off. And I explained them the situation. They said I need to that the laptop to MediaMarkt and that they have to send it to Apple for repair. When I came home I got my MacBook Pro from my laptop bag. I noticed that the MacBook Pro was a little opened so I opend it and saw that the left shift key has travelled to the left upper corner. And I saw that there was a crack on the bottom part of the screen. I was shocked. This is wat I saw: User uploaded file

The left shift key was in pieces. And a portion of the left side of the screen was black. I the rushed to MediaMarkt and explained the situation. They sent it for repair to Apple. A week and a half later I got an email with a price indication of how much it would cost for Apple to repair my MacBook Pro. I was shocked that I had to pay 1100 euro to fix my MacBook pro. The screen and the keyboard had to be replaced. In the email it said that the MacBook Pro had pressure damage. I called the MediaMarkt support and asked for an explaination. They said that I had caused the pressure damage and because of that the MacBook Pro could not be repaired under warranty. I explaned how the screen got broken and she said again that the damage was because of me. I said to her to send the MacBook Pro back. And today (14-10-2018) I got my MacBook Pro back. When I came home I took off the bubble wrap and I opened the MacBook Pro and the problem was worse. Before I send the MacBook Pro for repair I could still use it. Albeit I could not use the whole screen. But now there are horizontal lines everywhere. This makes the MacBook Pro not usable as a laptop. Here is what it looks like:User uploaded fileUser uploaded fileUser uploaded file

I don't know what to do now. I have a MacBook Pro that is only usable with an external screen. Is there any way that Apple could help me?

Kind regards,

Bobby Ristov

Sorry, but most likely, Apple will not be able to help you ... if you are asking for them to perform the repairs at no cost to you. You would have to resolve this with MediaMarkt. If they appear to be unhelpful, you will need to investigate the repair laws in your country to determine, what if anything, you can do next to try to get this resolved.
