2017 iMac 27" i5 recent slowdown issues

Hi all-

Within the last couple of months, my iMac has started to slow down in spots... just enough to be very frustrating.

It is a 2017 27" 5k 3.8GHz i5 w/ 2TB Fusion Drive and 40Gb of RAM, running High Sierra. Mainly using software like Photoshop, Illustrator, inDesign, Lightroom, FCPX, Safari.

Up until a few months ago, it was blazingly fast. Absolutely no problems running any of the above software. When it started acting up, the issues were: slow logins, slow program starts, constant beach balling, stuttering video playback, clicking and waiting for something to happen (even just opening a folder or a photo). After trying the usual fixes (SMC reset, NVRAM reset, First Aid, hardware check, etc.) we took it to an Apple Store.

They diagnosed a failing fusion drive, and replaced it. Restored from Time Machine backup. Unfortunately, all the slowdowns didn't go away but it did get a little better.

On average, it takes over a minute to log into or switch an account. The animations during login are not smooth either. Over 30 seconds to wake from sleep. Once we are logged in, the performance is mediocre. Photoshop or FCPX can take over a minute to start. Using software like Illustrator or Photoshop can be a game of click-beachball-click-beachball. Even opening new tabs in Safari can take a few seconds, as well as changing things in System Preferences or browsing in Finder. Trying the usual fixes referenced above doesn't seem to make much of a difference. To top it all off, somedays the performance is much better, then it will revert.

I tried making a new test admin account, and the performance seems a little better, but it isn't like its old self.

I'm looking for any ideas as to why it's crawling like it is, and any ideas how to fix it... before I take it back to the Apple Store.

Thanks in advance. EtreCheck report below.

Looking over your Etrecheck report not seeing any of the usual suspects. I would uninstall System Pal though, it looks innocent enough until it comes to the memory cleaning function, MacOS doesn't need a utility like that and they can cause problems.

tRy booting into safe mode then rebooting normally Use safe mode to isolate issues with your Mac - Apple Support

The other thing I notice is that there may be problems with your Adobe software, I don't use any of it so hopefully someone else will chime in and offer thoughts on that. I would at least make sure you're up to date with that stuff.
