Dark Mode Text Too Dark

In Dark Mode, the text in Keychain windows is dark and unreadable.

More specifically, it is ONLY when I open a Secure Note. The text within the note is dark.

How do I fix this?

I'm having the same problem. I've attached a screenshot of an old note with an obsolete software key.

One fix is to just recopy everything to new notes , but I have a lot of them... it would be much easier if there were a way to change the font color in the notes.

Adding to this solution, create a font style from a new note to make it easier to apply to old notes. I have a ton of these notes, so I just apply it whenever I open a note that displays incorrectly. This makes the notes display correctly in both dark and light mode (tested on Mojave 10.14.2)

  1. make new note
  2. type something in the body
  3. highlight and right click Font > Styles...
  4. click "Add To Favorites"
  5. name the new style "dark mode fix"
  6. If you're going to want to keep most of the styling applied to older notes and only want them to be readable, do not select the checkboxes to save the font and style. Otherwise, select them to convert to the new defaults.

Whenever you open a note and it displays incorrectly:

  1. select all the text of the note
  2. right click Font > Styles...
  3. select the "Favorite Styles" radio button
  4. select the "dark mode fix" style from the drop down
  5. click "Apply"

You'll loose formatting such as any bold or underlines.

Apple's continued lack of attention to this problem may be a sign that they will be moving notes from being stored locally to iCloud like they've done with passwords and its not worth fixing. Then again, maybe secure notes is going away and just hasn't been removed yet and it's not worth fixing... :-(

Also, there is no "paste and match style" option in keychain access, when I copy text from an old note to the new one, the font remains dark. A workaround is to select all in the secure note, paste it into a new TextEdit file, then recopy it into a new secure note. Big pain when you have a lot of notes.

While that does work, it is not the best solution. If you switch back to light mode, you have the opposite problem (white text on a white background). I have tried using Styles... but it still results in one mode being incorrect.

New Secure Notes work correctly in both modes, so I think it will require a fix from Apple.
