ibooks is frozen on a document

I’ve downloaded a document to iBooks on my iPad Air2. Now it’s frozen on the document. I can’t close the doc or move to either my library or another document. Other apps work fine but even shutting down and rebooting has not solved the issue And I can’t delete the document either. All I can do is read it. This occurred after I upgraded to ios12.0.1 not sure if that’s the issue. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Ok here’s what worked. When I closed the app and reopened it I got a quick flash of my Library home page then the offending document showed up again. Soo.. close the app and position your finger over the screen a little to the right of the center of the screen. Open the app and when that flash page appears press and HOLD whatever point your finger hits. That opened the library page and I was able to delete the offending document from there in the usual manner. The app seems to be working fine now and I’ve test downloaded two other documents without issues. Thanks for the suggestions! Hope this helps others that run up against this problem.

Ok I'm back, and with the same problem. over the last week MANY documents from several sources have frozen in iBooks on download. This had never happened before the last update to iOS 12.0.1. So I don’t think this is a corrupt file or corrupt download problem. It’s happening way too often and way too regularly. The fix I posted has worked every time but it would be better if the thing didn’t freeze I the first place. Hey Apple, I think you have a problem with your iOS update that needs addressing.
