Hi.

I had also this problem on my iPhone 7.

There were 4 things that i did:

  1. I reset network settings
  2. go to Settings-Messages-Send & Receive: i select only my phone number WITHOUT email
  3. go to Settings-FaceTime : i logout from Apple ID, so you dont use it for FaceTime and that is written that you can only be reached by FaceTime on your mobile number.
  4. go to Settings-Notification-Messages: set notification grouping to OFF

This is what i did and my text messages notification is normal for the past 2 weeks.

I hope that this will also help you.

Agreed. I had the iPhone 6 for over three years and I loved that phone so much but I wanted a bigger phone. So I was so excited to get the 8+ just seven months ago and I’ve had several phone replacements since then, and they all do the same thing. It’s too late to return it now and it won’t solve the issue anyway. so next time I think I’m gonna get an android too. It’s just taking too long to resolve this issue and it’s really frustrating

If you really want to switch phone ecosystems over such a relatively insignificant issue, feel free, but let's not pretend for a moment that Android systems don't have their share of annoying bugs that have yet to be addressed after years if not longer.

It's really whatever makes you happy and meets your needs; if you are willing to give up iCloud, iTunes integration for music and TV, and frankly (to me) the superior iOS interface, that's your right.

I didn’t list all the problems. The phone over heats. Type I g into the phone can also sometimes lag. And when adding people’s contact information the phone sometimes ignores my finger touching the phone to add notes and won’t allow me to add a note, or address. The phone used to frequently have black screen from the day I bought it. That being said the black screen issue seemed to disappear around Christmas time so an update must have fixed that. Yes you are right Android most likely has issues also so I’m probably ****** either way. But looking at the original post in this thread was posted so long ago. It feels like no one is even trying to fix this issue. Feels like there is a lack of care

Thanks for your replies. Your first reply was a great way to put things into perspective. Lol. It’s a pretty small issue the echo. It always seems to happen at the same time my phone is running slow. It’s probably just memory overload and I need to just reboot the phone problem is I always forget how to do that. Once again thanks for your reply. Ignore the negative comments you are only trying to help and you have. So thank you :)

This has been happening to be since the fall of 2018. It used to happen once every few weeks but over the past 2-3 weeks it’s happening a lot more often and I can’t seem to find a pattern. Sometimes it’s when I’m getting two messages at once, sometimes it’s when I’m using my phone and a lot of the time it’s when the phone is just sitting beside me not being used. It’s annoying but not the end of the world. Thought I’d pass along that I’m having the same issue as these folks and it seems to be getting worse.

Cheers!

Not for me. It seems to be pretty random. And it does come from people w iPhones.

Another quirk/anomaly I have had with my past 2 iPhones is that, also randomly, when I hit the siri microphone to voice text more than once, it won't work. It kind of pops up with the noise and then goes away.

For it to work, I have to actually type a letter, then erase, it and then try siri again.

Has anyone else had that?

I got the iPhone 8plus - right away this happened to my phone- couple updates since and it still happens, got my phone October 2018, was brand new. I also get a text message but it doesn't make a sound till I actually touch the home button then it says, Message 30 minutes ago. I changed my SIM card no changes, updates no changes, I would like to have a phone that doesn't make these weird static noises till. touch the home button
