Keep getting these sms REG-RESP?v=3;r=889571421;n=+60192996510;s=025BD54E66FFFFFFFFC3A35328649B8E52957FA1C029CCC87D070FB3F7

I was abroad using a tourist sim for iMessage and data , when I came back to malaysia I swapped over to my original Malaysian SIM card but when I did that , these sms kept coming in whenever I try to use iMessage . When I check the send And receive address for iMessage it shows the tourist sim number instead of my Malaysian sim number (which was working in iMessage prior to going abroad)

Hi Wks79,

Thanks for the post in Apple Support Communities. It sounds like you're seeing some unexpected behavior in Messages since swapped SIM cards.

If you're still seeing your alternate phone number in Send & Receive, the steps here should help to Add or remove your phone number in Messages or FaceTime :

If you can't see or select your number in Messages or FaceTime

  1. Make sure that you're using the latest software for your Mac or iOS device.
  2. Make sure that you correctly followed the iPhone steps to set up your phone number. You should be using the same Apple ID on all of your devices.
  3. In the “You can be reached” section of Messages and FaceTime settings, make sure that there are checkmarks beside your phone number and Apple ID:

If your phone number is unchecked and you can't select it, or you have some other issue, follow these steps:

  1. On your Mac:
    • In Messages, choose Messages > Preferences, then click Accounts and select your iMessage account. Click Sign Out.
    • In FaceTime, choose FaceTime > Preferences, then click Sign Out.
  2. On your iPhone, iPad, and iPod:
    • Go to Settings > Messages > Send & Receive. Tap your Apple ID, then tap Sign Out.
    • Go to Settings > FaceTime. Tap your Apple ID, then tap Sign Out.
  3. On your iPhone:
    • Go back to Settings > Messages and make sure that iMessage is turned on.
    • Tap Send & Receive, then choose “Use your Apple ID for iMessage” and sign in with your Apple ID.
  4. Using the same Apple ID, sign back in to Messages and FaceTime on your other devices.

Signing out and back in on all devices you use with your Apple ID, as outlined above, should help to resolve this and get you back to normal.

Kindest regards.

The only think that helped me was turning of Apple ID, iMessages, Faceapp then rebooting my phone (hold volume down and power button at the same time) and after it restarted itself there was this notification saying “Your carrier may charge for SMS messages used to activate iCloud”. You must press “Cancel” and that should be it.
