Erratic "ghosting" behaviour on iPad Mini 2

My iPad Mini 2 is having "ghosting" issues - it jumps quickly and erratically from app to app without me touching anything as if someone has taken control of it remotely. I have read some old threads suggesting that it's to do with the touch screen (i had mine replaced about a year ago but the problems only started about four months ago) being supersensitive to dust or the case squeezing the iPad too much but addressing these issues don't seem to help.

Does anyone have any up-to-date information about this extremely irritating malfunction? are there any patches available to fix it?

All helpful answers gratefully accepted...

Cheers.

Thanks a lot for the reply - your input is very much appreciated. I'm in a busy period now so will have to wait for some free time and proximity to the original repair shop before i can try to find the right solution. I am thinking of going to an Apple store to see if they will do a diagnostic test of some sort to check in case its a software or system issue but i think you are most likely right. I'll post again when i have tackled it to let you know how it goes.

Best wishes
