cannot send mail via iCloud SMTP

Not sure if this is where I should post, given opaque nature of Apple Support forum.

We have 3 Mac Computers in our household, 2 of them just updated to Mojave, the other still on Sierra.

This AM we are unable to send mail via iCloud SMTP, get an error message saying we cannot.

Sending mail via Mail app and Gmail iMap works fine.

So no problem with internet, no problem with Mail and Gmail iMap.

Problem with 3 computers using 2 different Mac OS.

Anyone have any idea before I call Mac Support (2 of the computers are still under AppleCare)?

TIA

Caroline

There have been multiple posts about problems using iCloud mail the last few days. One poster stated they had contacted Apple Support and were told there is a server problem that Apple is working to fix. A post earlier today stated Apple Support told them the problem was solved for some but the software engineers were still working on a final fix.
