Macbook Pro 13 or 15 (2018) for Architecture & Furniture Design
Hello everyone,
I would like to get some advices from you all 🙂
I currently own a :
MacBook Pro (Retina, 15 pouces, mid-2014)
2,5 GHz Intel Core i7
16 Go 1600 MHz DDR3
NVIDIA GeForce GT 750M 2048 Mo
Intel Iris Pro 1536 Mo
I have to change it because it is now very old and have different issues.
I am torn between two choices and I would like to know your opinion. I use AutoCad for plans, so only 2D works and I also use SketchUp a lot for 3D drawings and then I put them in Photoshop to finish my render.
I am only looking for a better, faster computer but I do not need the best best best one since I don't do 3D renders that need crazy power. Although, I would really appreciate a machine that is capable enough to work flawlessly.
Do you think a 13inch Macbook Pro is going to be frustrating since I am currently on a 15inch one, screen wise?
There is a $400 difference between the two and that is something I really need since my budget is not extensible.
I will also get an iPad Pro on the side to get a very portable, intuitive device on the go to work on also.
I am hesitating between the Macbook Pro 13 inch Retina + Touch Bar (and putting 16GB of ram instead of the classic 8GB) = $1999
- 2.3GHz quad-core 8th-generation Intel Core i5 processor
- Turbo Boost up to 3.8GHz
- Intel Iris Plus Graphics 655
- 16GB 2133MHz LPDDR3 memory
and the Macbook Pro 15 inch Retina + Touch Bar ("classic" version) = $2399
- Processor Intel Core i7 hexacœur de 8e génération à 2,2 GHz
- Turbo Boost jusqu’à 4,1 GHz
- Radeon Pro 555X avec 4 Go de mémoire GDDR5
- 16 Go de mémoire DDR4 à 2 400 MHz
Could you please help me?
THANK YOU VERY MUCH!
Frédéric
