Video recorded on iMovie disappeared. Help!!!

Hello, today i was recording a 3 hour long video on iMovie with the built in camera on my MacBook and when i clicked stop recording the video disappeared. I checked the event i imported the video to and it's empty. I know for a fact the video was properly recorded because before i started recording, the storage on my MacBook was 103 GB and now it's 84 GB, so the video was recorded, I just can't find it. I already looked in the 'Show package contents' and the video wasn't there. Can someone please help me. Thanks in advance!

Open iMovie and in the media view click on the 2018 item that contains your events for the year. Then go to View/Sort Event By/Newest to Oldest. Your last event should appear on top.
