updated my 7+ to iOS 12.1 phone no longer rings for calls

I recently updated my iPhone 7+ to iOS 12.1. My phone no longer rings for calls or text messages. I only vibrates and turns on the screen. Otherwise it handles the calls if I "feel" or "see" it and then answer respond.

I have tried resetting the sound for both the ring and text but it still doesn't work.

I also tried turning the phone totally off and then back on.

The sound I was using for regular answer is no longer found in the options for sounds. It was "Sherwood Forest".

I don't know if that has anything to do with this but that was not the same sound I was using for text messaging which doesn't make a sound now either.
