iPad Pro 2018 WiFi problems

Hi,

I have the new iPad pro for a few days now. I notice that the iPad no longer has internet access for a certain period of time. this takes 10 minutes, or I do a restart. When I use a hotspot, the problem is the same. It is very annoying.

iPad Pro 11-inch, Wi-Fi, iOS 12.1

I also have this problem. the iPad Pro 2018 12.5” (plus cell) when it sometimes wakes from sleep, is connected to the router but NOT able to get to the internet. Also, it will NOT connect via LTE either. The ONLY fix is a hard boot. After the hard boot, immediate connection to WiFi and internet.

It it seems that it only happens towards the end of the day. Battery around 50%. After its charges all night, I don’t have trouble again until the next evening.... when the batter is again around 50%.

turning OFF WiFi auto connect works. When the ipad wakes up, I manually connect to the network. No problems getting to the internet. If the iPad doesn’t go into sleep mode, no problems with dropping or not being able to connect to the internet.

my home network is not the issue. Every other device (apple or otherwise) we have works fine. Router is apple AirPort Extreme. Service is AT&T.

i think that there is a power management bug on this iPad.

In speaking with Apple support, the tech said that is a known bug they are looking at, and that is may be fixed already... Just updated to the latest OS drop (12.1.1) as she recommended, let it run for a couple of days, and found this did NOT fix the issue....

What I have found by my trial and error, is that my issue is tied to the USB-C port. Merely plugging and unplugging anything (headphone or power) will correct the issue and enable the WIFI or Cellular to work again.... This issue still requires APPLE attention to fix, but at least for me, this is now at least manageable. However, I am sure that my USB-C port may wear out faster now...

Confirming what others have identified here. 2018 Ipad looses internet data despite being connected to the network when it sleeps with the USB-C to 3.5mm headphone dongle installed. Removing and replacing the headphone dongle solves the issue. Ipad was wiped and new firmware and IOS were installed by Apple support but the problem remains. I have Allow Access to USB Accesories when locked turned on. Two different headphones and Apple dongles produce same results. I have posted this info to the apple feedback page in an attempt to get someone's attention.

I have the same problem. Top right shows strong wifi signal but internet connection would just drop. I would have to hard reset to get the connection back on. This happens even when I am not using any USB C connected devices. This is absolutely frustrating and needs to be fixed right away. FYR, my version is 12.1.4. I

Instead of doing the hard reset everytime you lose Wifi, have you tried simply turning off WiFi in Control Center, wait 5 secs., or so, then turn WiFi back on?

My 3 year old iPad Pro will drop the Wifi connection from time to time and still show active in the status bar.

I simply turn OFF Wifi in Control Panel, wait 5-6 secs. and simply turn WiFi back ON from the Control Panel.

WifI/Internet connection gets re-established.

No hard reset needed.
