iPad Pro 2018 WiFi problems

Hi,

I have the new iPad pro for a few days now. I notice that the iPad no longer has internet access for a certain period of time. this takes 10 minutes, or I do a restart. When I use a hotspot, the problem is the same. It is very annoying.

I also have this problem. the iPad Pro 2018 12.5” (plus cell) when it sometimes wakes from sleep, is connected to the router but NOT able to get to the internet. Also, it will NOT connect via LTE either. The ONLY fix is a hard boot. After the hard boot, immediate connection to WiFi and internet.

It it seems that it only happens towards the end of the day. Battery around 50%. After its charges all night, I don’t have trouble again until the next evening.... when the batter is again around 50%.

turning OFF WiFi auto connect works. When the ipad wakes up, I manually connect to the network. No problems getting to the internet. If the iPad doesn’t go into sleep mode, no problems with dropping or not being able to connect to the internet.

my home network is not the issue. Every other device (apple or otherwise) we have works fine. Router is apple AirPort Extreme. Service is AT&T.

i think that there is a power management bug on this iPad.

I am having this exact issue with my iPad Pro 10.5 and my daughters iPad mini. I have swapped out my router thinking it was the problem and restored both devices as new.

The only accessory I have attached to my iPad is a Apple Pencil. My daughter has nothing for hers.

I tried the location services fix that was mentioned here. It worked for about 20 minutes, versus the 3 minutes it normally does, but it then started acting up again. This started around the release of iOS 12 for me.

The only network connection that seems to work is cellular, but I only get 1 bar of service at my house and I work from home.... this bug is making my iPad useless.

I should also mention that I have several other devices working just fine on my WiFi network, it is only iPads that are effected. 5 iPhones (all running the latest iOS), 1 Apple TV, 1 Smart TV, 2 MacBook Airs, 5 gaming consoles, and 5 iMacs are not effected in any way.

This is not the answer to this issue. The issue is that our iPad Pro 2018 is still connected to WiFi but is not connected to the internet. This happens when I close my iPad and then reopen it after a few minutes. It’s still connected to WiFi but is no longer connecting to the internet. I’ve returned my iPad thinking it was just my device. I bought another one iPad 12.9 and still this is happening

this is not the issue. The issue is that the iPad Pro 2018 is connect to WiFi its on the network. But, it doesn’t see the internet. See my post below.

also weird is that when this happens (for me, only when it wakes up after sleep, with battery around 50% or less) is that the airport utility also suggests that the router is no longer on the network. Well, it is.... I’m connect to it as are other devices in the house and all of them are surfing right at the same moment!

there is some kind of software bug.... or possibly a hardware problem or combo causing this to happen. It’s not the router IMO.

I bought a 2018 iPad Pro 12.9 for my son and an 11 for myself. I have not noticed the issue as much as my son has (but he also streams a lot more than I do...)

Neither of us are using headphones, I had bought him a magnetic charging adapter (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07BGSS591/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_detailpage_o01_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1) as he is a lot rougher on cables. I thought that might be the issue given others comments about the headphone adapters, but switching that out for a normal cord hasn't fixed the issues.

The issues seem to occur when connected to power and not.

Wifi seems to still be connected, but networking seems to have died. Just cannot get out to the internet. (can't even browse to news.google.com or any other website, networking is just dead, even though the ipad reports being connected to wifi.

It is very frustrating for him - he's started going back to his old iPad at times when he knows he's going to be watching a lot of video...

Not sure what next steps to do are.

There is no one in ANY of these Apple Support Communities from any Apple product teams, here.

Cognizant or responsible Apple product teams, designers and engineers do not read, nor participate in these Apple technical support communities.

These are, largely, Apple product user to user technical support communities.

I and others, in these Apple product support communities, are simply Apple product users, just like you, that volunteer our own time and knowledge here.

Apple supplies these forums for users to work out their product issues with other users, but these community forums ARE monitored/moderated by Apple Staff, as well as Apple Community Support Specialists, assigned to these community forums, but I do not think any specific user posted info is ever passed on to who/mever the cognizant parties are who would need to know if there are any mounting issues with any Apple product or software.

These ASC ONLY moderators and staffers, due to Apple privacy policies, do not forward any info contained/obtained from ANY postings within these communities to any cognizant Apple staff, teams or individuals.

The only way to get Apple to, DIRECTLY, listen to you is to use their feedback portion of their website.

iPad Feedback

http://www.apple.com/feedback/ipad.html

Cognizant Apple employees read ALL feedback generated from all of the various feedback pages and transfers the data to the proper and responsible Apple teams and personnel , but NO Apple employees will ever respond with any type of direct, individual replies from the feedback you post.

The more users that post product feedback about any product issue, the faster Apple is made aware and starts working on a fix/solution for a future software update.

Also, you may want to phone contact Apple, directly in Cupertino, California, and calmly talk to an Apple customer service employee about this issue via the link below.

This was also the case happened to my new iPad Pro 11, It was so annoying, I just bought it several days ago, and have tried so many ways, like restart, reset the network settings, the iPad connected to the internet and failed after several minutes, why it was so unstable with the internet connection. I thought it was just unlucky for me to have bought this unstable one at first, so I went to the store and reported this issue and changed for another new one, the funny thing is that there is the same connection problem with the new one. I am so confused that how the experience of using the new iPad Pro could be so bad! I am now considering turn it back!
