iPad Pro 2018 WiFi problems

I have the same problem. Top right shows strong wifi signal but internet connection would just drop. I would have to hard reset to get the connection back on. This happens even when I am not using any USB C connected devices. This is absolutely frustrating and needs to be fixed right away. FYR, my version is 12.1.4.

Instead of doing the hard reset everytime you lose Wifi, have you tried simply turning off WiFi in Control Center, wait 5 secs., or so, then turn WiFi back on?

My 3 year old iPad Pro will drop the Wifi connection from time to time and still show active in the status bar.

I simply turn OFF Wifi in Control Panel, wait 5-6 secs. and simply turn WiFi back ON from the Control Panel.

WifI/Internet connection gets re-established.

No hard reset needed.

No I have not, and will try it next time I experience the disconnection again. FWIW, I reached out to Apple support and he suggested I do network reset as well... Not sure if that would help but I'll try that too next time. I just hope this is not a hardware issue and can be fixed via some sort of updates... It just flat out sucks for such a new device to behave like this.

Since the switch to 64-bit code and hardware, I have not been very impressed with iOS 11 or 12 and, currently, I have not installed either on my 2015 iPad Pro.

My iPad Pro has been working and performing just fine with iOS 10.3.3.

I have been missing out on some significant application updates, but have decided to forfeit these, for now, for stable operational performance of my expensive iPad Pro.

iOS 11 was a mess, IMHO and avoided it completely

iOS 12 has some intermittent touch response issues reported across all years and model iPad Pros from users here and even some reports of this intermittent touch responses issue affecting 5th and 6th gen 9.7 inch screen iPads, as well.

Still some WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity issues, as well, in iOS 12.

Since upgrading iOS is a one-way affair, I am going to wait out the entire iOS 12 update cycle until I make a decision whether to upgrade, or not.

I am having this exact issue with my iPad Pro 10.5 and my daughters iPad mini. I have swapped out my router thinking it was the problem and restored both devices as new.

The only accessory I have attached to my iPad is a Apple Pencil. My daughter has nothing for hers.

I tried the location services fix that was mentioned here. It worked for about 20 minutes, versus the 3 minutes it normally does, but it then started acting up again. This started around the release of iOS 12 for me.

The only network connection that seems to work is cellular, but I only get 1 bar of service at my house and I work from home.... this bug is making my iPad useless.

I should also mention that I have several other devices working just fine on my WiFi network, it is only iPads that are effected. 5 iPhones (all running the latest iOS), 1 Apple TV, 1 Smart TV, 2 MacBook Airs, 5 gaming consoles, and 5 iMacs are not effected in any way.

I have all the same problems since the new iOS update 12.2 on the iPad Pro 2018 WiFi/cellular but WiFi issues are becoming a nightmare says connected but it isn’t and emails posts just linger and time out and having to resend or redo apps says no internet connection game centre also logging you out this needs a big fix didn’t spend £1000 to have connection issues if no fix iPad useless will apple refund ?

I believe my issue with WIFI disconnecting is finally resolved. I changed my wifi router from ASUS RT N66R to Netgear Orbi mesh router, and I don't get the disconnections anymore. I'm not entirely sure if the ipad pro has issues with certain wifi routers, but it certainly feels like it. Good luck to you all.

I have to shutdown and reboot my iPad everytime. Really annoying.

I had the same problem and it turn out to be the usb-c/earphones adapter. Removing the adapter takes the internet connection back.

Never let it attached when not using it.

Can confirm, definitely has to do with USB-C adapter. Connection came back as soon as I unplugged.

Thank you. Unplugging my headset does solve the wifi problem. But Apple Devs, are you going to fix this? Is this a software issue or a hardware issue?

Can confirm also. As soon as I unplug the usb-c to usb camera adaptor and usb headphone, it connected the internet. After connecting to internet it is not problem to plug it back.
