Brand New Ipad Pro 11 inch screen issues

I am having the same issue and I do have a glass tempered screen protector on it, why would it do that with the screen protector on, makes no sense to me. Is there a screen protector that does work because I want one on my ipad

Same exact problem! 256 gig 11 inch I exchanged it 2 days later for a new one but it is doing the same thing so it has to be a software issue. Think about it flat doesn’t want to respond with screen protector but pick it up and it works perfectly means it still works with the protector on! has to be software hopefully... Apple fix this before unboxed therapy brings this to light on YouTube!

I went into an Apple store & was told that Apple does not endorse any screen for this new ipad

there is one they recommend for iPhones, but no iPad at this time. Use it within ut a protector, but i did get the protection for it

I screen sensitivity is weird - sometimes normal, sometimes doesn't work. I can figure out the pattern.

If yours works, I would like to try it - which one do you use??

iPad 11 pro, soproratly will reboot itself. Pencil will also not work, however it is showing connected. Using outterbox defender case, thought that it could be heat. First tried removing screen protector as you really don’t need it. Had same problem with rebooting and pencil did not work. Update to IOS did not improve either...looking for help..

The PaperLike product from Germany does NOT HAVE screen issues with my brand new iPad Pro 11 2018.

It's more expensive, but it works and it doesn't have touch sensitivity issues. By the time you waste money on the cheap ones you could have had one that works.

The problem with the PaperLike product is if you are not using that particular screen protector for drawing or writing on your iPad/iPad Pro and someone purchased an iPad Pro to own and use as a high end media consumption device and other non-Apple Pencil uses, the PaperLike screen protector reduces the clarity of the that expensive iPad Pro screen.

One of the reasons I do not use any screen protectors and especially matte-type/matte-like screen protectors.

I didn't pay an expensive price for an iPad Pro to have my screen clarity and resolution diminished.

I draw and write on my iPad Pro, but use a different third party smart Bluetooth stylus that has a fine point, rubberised, meshed tip that creates some drag on the screen for drawing without ruining the clarity of my iPad Pro’s screen.

I agree with you completely. There is no ideal solution. It diminishes the HD wonderfulness of our screens. But it doesn't diminish touch sensitivity, and of ALL of the options out there this is the best in that regard because it increases functionality and relative to other matte solutions that I tried, this is the best of both worlds, albeit imperfect for watching videos or even editing photos (which is my hobby). That's why I joked with Jan at PaperLike that someone should engineer a light frame of something kind that could swap between glossy and matte. Wishful thinking!

Same thing is happening to me, with the unresponsive while flat on the table issue. I also use it mostly for artwork. Do you have a matte film, or a matte tempered glass protector? I have a tempered glass, but would like the protection of glass WITH a matte finish. I wonder if it’s possible to have both and have it be responsive.

I like your thinking. If everyone was to buy and then return their new iPad, that‘d certainly get Apple’s attention when the returns start piling-up in stores 😉

I’m having the exact same issue. Really unresponsive. Somethung I never experienced with any other iPad I’ve owned. I have a 11 inch 256gb space gray model.

That’s great news that you were able to figure out the issue. Unfortunately for me, i did not have a screen protector on so I can’t say that was a issue for me. I can report that I did return my iPad Pro for a different one and so far things have been running great with no issues.

If you’re interested in using the Apple Pencil and you want a matte screen protector that is extremely nice to use with a stylus AND doesn’t have any issues, get the Paperlike product from Germany. Jan Sapper created it and he’s good to talk to. You get two in the package. It seemed like I had to press a bit more firmly with my finger when moving around the system, but it’s really worth it if you want a fantastic experience with the Apple Pencil. I was concerned that I wouldn’t like the sort of matte screen appearance when I watch videos or whatever, but actually it’s very sharp and in a way it is less glare and better viewing in brighter light. This product is a bit more expensive than what you find on Amazon for $10, but I tried those and this is light years ahead. Jan or Nina will absolutely take care of you. I joked with Jan that I wish that someone would invent a sort of removable screen protector that you could switch between matte and glossy, but really their product is excellent. And when my first one took too long to arrive? They actually sent me two more sets of them! It’s hard to know what happened with a non trackable postal mail package and they just kept em coming. For no extra charge. You have to be thrilled in this day and age with a company that makes an excellent product AND has superb customer service.

Jan Sapper also gives you access to his digital journaling whatchamacallit that is really, really thoughtfully laid out and quite insightful psychologically. It can be imported into something like Notability and of course this makes fun and full use of the Apple Pencil if you want to.

I know I sound like an ad, but it’s all true. Even the part where I acted like an ungrateful child and whined at Jan for not getting the thing to me!!! They just sent more.

That’s my $0.02. I’ve never posted on an Apple forum. But I struggled with the whole glass and plastic frustration thing seemingly for months. I was prepared to use nothing. But there IS an excellent product out there at paperlike.com

I have Otterbox Defender and had response issues with pencil. Took off the plastic screen protector and it went away...kinda...another issue was occurring. iPad 11 would freeze or reboot itself. Tried all approaches, wiping and install as new unit, turn off this or that. Removed pencil completely and stopped rebooting...kinda...notice iPad rebooted the instant that I connected Apple earbuds. There has got to be BUG in the Bluetooth utility. Most likely in the ISO.

ANYONE ELSE SEEING THIS?
