how do i get rid of Softonic on my mac

My homepage is stuck on Apple.com and I can not change it plus Softonics keeps redirecting my web pages and delivering notifications. How can I clean all this off my Mac ? I have run Malware bytes but it does not see softonics . thanks, Andy.

Search Pulse Malware I have tried everything to remove Search Pulse from my MacBook. On my Safari, no extensions show up at all. I tried to change my homepage, but it's showing up as what I set it to and won't let me make any changes to it. I have installed "Malware Bytes" and removed 6 files from my MacBook containing the malware and now scans clean... however when I open a new Safari tab it is still redirecting me to the Search Pulse landing. Malware Removal I recently noticed my Safari browser is using Yahoo search with Google as my default. Yes I have the bug bad on a one year old Mac Air with macOS Big Sur v11.2.3. When I search, the malware redirects me quickly to something it wants me to see but much of the site inaccessible. I've done all the reasonable attempts to remove or quarantine the malware including Malwarebytes, Avast etc. Those two antivirus programs don't even see the virus. It appears to be a common problem. What should be my next step? Would uninstalling/reinstalling Safari help? Should I reinstall MacOS? Can't Apple come up with a reasonable fix for this?

browser redirect to yahoo (practical remote) i found out i accidently downloaded this safari extension called "practical remote". i researched it and found out it was a virus, and was the reason why my search engine kept redirecting to yahoo. i deleted the extension and the application, but my engine keeps redirecting to yahoo. is there any way i can fix this? i am willing to reset my macbook completely because i just got it and dont have any important stuff here.
