iPhone XR stereo speaker issue (earpiece speaker)

Speaker issue I've read about on iPhone XS and XS max's is happening on my new iPhone XR I just picked up yesterday. Noticed when playing music downloaded from iTunes and showing off the stereo speakers to co-workers that the earpiece speaker wasn’t working. Then went into accessibility to make sure the Left and Right audio channels were balanced (slider in the middle). It was. Slid the slider to the far right and No Sound. Far left the sound came from the bottom speaker only.

Happens with YouTube and Spotify playback too. Phone calls the earpiece continues to work.

Restart corrected the issue but I’m weary of how long before the earpiece speaker will cut out again. Hoping this is a software issue and that a fix will come soon.

I'm on the current iOS 12.1

I bought an iPhone XR yesterday. I have big problem with crackling and buzzing speaker. It is highly noticeable, specially at higher volumes and during phone calls. Is it only me or there are more people having the same issue? Is it gonna be fixed or it is a bigger problem than I thought? Or maybe there is any solution for that?

Luckily, my problems has been fixed. I feel shamed but reason why speaker wasn’t working was just a protective foil on phone which is on every new phone. Never thought that this could make such problems for speaker to work right.

Just noticed this problem today. The earpiece speaker was off when playing music or streaming audio. I rebooted and it came back. At least it appears to be a software issue, not hardware.

It's not encouraging that this problem has been reported as far back as the original X.

I’m having the same issue I just got off the phone with apple about it and it really does it on speaker phone. I had to return my friend call on iPhone 7 phone and it was so much better.
