Time Zone Change Fail

Travelled from Eastern Time to Central Time briefly (just a couple of hours) yesterday. When going from ET to CT our phones (mine: 8+; wife's: 6s) reset their times appropriately. However when returning from CT to ET, neither phone changed back to the appropriate time. IOW stayed on CT, even though we were much further Into the ET zone than we had travelled into the CT zone (I.e., just a couple of miles into CT, but 30 or so into ET). We had to turn each phone off and back on for the time to reset properly. While we have travelled between time zones before (albeit not often), this is the first time we have had to perform the on/off action to correct the time. Is there some known bug?

FWIW, this happened in the area of Chattanooga, TN. Operating system is iOS 12.1 on both phones

Make sure all your Time Zone settings are set on the automatic modes:

But honestly, if you turned your phone off and on and everything works fine, then you have solved the problem. Sometimes, software, for a variety of reasons, behaves imperfectly and you need to reboot. I've only experienced this problem once personally.

Thanks. I’m not too worried since off/on resolved the issue. Just a little surprised it happe6to two separate phones. Makes it seem like a reproducible problem.
