2018 MacBook Air HD camera is in poor quality.

I just bought the new MacBook Air, noted that the HD camera is so blurry. The photo that captured using this MacBook turns out to be worse than my iPhone 7 front camera. Anyone facing the same problem?

We've tested our camera as suggested - but it was an issue right out of the box yesterday and it's still an issue - with any app, in new test user accounts, and the system profile recognizes the camera.

Apple needs to replace these cameras OR remove this image and this text from the website because it's blatantly false advertising.

Boriskonrad I strongly recommend to return the computer. I have the same problem and after talking to apple support for 40 min, they admitted that is the camera itself of this model that was "designed" to perform with good quality only if you are in a very bright room or with lots of natural light. They told me it's not a software issue so they don't have any plans to fix it, and that the only thing we can do is either return the computer within 14 days of purchase or file a complaint at http://apple.com/feedback/

Besides the camera I had problems with the computer since day 1 and just now it turn off itself while I was writing this post. Unfortunately I can't return it because I bought it a month ago, but you are in time. This Macbook Air 2018 is really garbage. Is the worst mac I've ever had since 20 years of using mac.

I agree with you in general, but calling this MacBook garbage is too much. It has a great body quality and aesthetics, great speakers, surprisingly great keyboard.

But the camera is indeed crap and Apple’s attitude is unacceptable. The camera is very bad in the daylight too, so their explanations are pushed. On the side note, I need to also test the battery life. So far I feel like it’s nowhere 12 hours or even nowhere 8 hours. Another false advertising, but I need to do exact testing.

this is seriously THE most frustrating thread in the world, so let me address this for anyone who is about to spend WAY too much time reading all these comments and save you the time: there is absolutely no answer to the question. Apple Support is just continuously bouncing us around, never solving the problem but always sending you to someone who “can.” the issue is definitely IN the computer, it’s NOT the user’s fault, and it’s definitely a feature they chose to overlook with this computer. i’m pretty sure it’s probably just to get us to buy a new one, eventually. they could never release a bug-free laptop. duh.
