Automate Wipe and Re-enrollment (i have DEP and MDM)

I am trying to automate the ability for people in my organization to use a device with a customer, and then wipe and set it up again for the next customer. I want a zero technical requirement for my users. I have MDM, and my devices are DEP enrolled, however when you wipe them they have to be manually added back into Wi-Fi which is hidden and a pain for them to manage. So I went on my Mac and thought I could create a headless restore Mac Mini to drop at their location to use.

Using Automator I use Get Connected Devices and set it to select iPad's only. Did an Erase Devices command and that works also. Did a Prepare Device using Automated Enrollment. So that got the Wi-Fi settings to the device. Still had to click thru a few DEP screens to get it back into MDM and then wait for things to load. So tried adding in Prepare Devices but couldn't figure that out. Does anyone have a solution other than a purchased one, that would automate wiping and getting back on the Wi-Fi and provisioned with zero engagement from the user? Was playing with the Prepare Devices as I mentioned, but that has no Wi-Fi settings in it and when I said to enroll in MDM and gave it the internet facing server for our MDM it just said the device needed to be in DEP.

Thanks.

In your MDM, through your DEP settings you can skip most of the setup.

In Macos high sierra and above you can share your macs internet connection with an iOS device through USB.

Any iOS device in the setup stage will automatically try to activate if connected to the internet.

Thanks for the info. I am aware of those items however not exactly my situation. So I've watched an apple video where a device is plugged into a Mac and it's wiped and gets wi-fi and shows up at the main screen and the MDM installs everything.

I do the same thing. Setup a Get Connected Devices process, a Erase Devices process, and a Prepare Device using Automated Enrollment process in Automator. Just like their video. In the video however, after the Wi-Fi is provisioned it automatically goes past the Hello screen and right to the desktop and based on the DEP profile starts setting up the device. Mine sits on the Hello screen. I click into it, then get a message that your company wants to configure your device, then next and it's installing profiles, then goes to the desktop. In this case it's not horrible, but doesn't match the video and will require someone to put hands on the device each time they do this rather than plug and go. We may have in any given location 10 of these devices that are plugged in and then reused every hour so don't want a user to have to click thru any screens to make sure it starts installing apps.

Thanks.
